Potential cancellation of games - Coronavirus

I am finding it hard to keep track of where and how bad this thing is. And I am usually in the Keep calm and Carry On camp.

But that does seem bizarre.
Its beyond Bizarre
More madrid fans due into Manchester yesterday
Madrid now in lockdown
Boris says"sure it'll be grand ,just wash your hands" ,while people die around him
In your case @roydo I would seek advice from your good lady's specialist regarding self isolation
It could be for 3 or 4 months.
Not scaremongering but it could take that long for this to subside

Funny really how extreme measures are being taken against something that will kill such a relatively small number of people. Why isn't this approach adopted for other things? So, let's close motorways, let's ban mountain climbing, let's lock up everyone found with a knife in a public area etc etc

One of the worst posts I’ve ever seen and @firefighterblue has liked it. Words fail me.

Well got no plans to visit Manchester nor Liverpool any time soon! Not a peep of any cases near us, (as far as I know), and keeping her safe and sound at home, basically food, scripts and physio now.

I have become an utter headcase re washing hands and that mind!

Short of every country closing their borders, what else can they do? You're talking about thousands of people who've already booked flights and accommodation, even if you cancel the game they're still going to come over and visit those bars and whatever.

id argue that unless they can prove they are not Madrid residents (could live in the UK, for example) theywould not be allowed tovisit.

obviously, it’s extremely discriminating, but in times where people visiting from the area with biggest spread of the virus, in the last week, that logic must be used.

it’s not happened, it’ll get better before it gets worse, and I’m just baffled it’s not behind closed doors tbh.

But what about the people coming here from all other parts of the world where there's a load of cases? People are talking about cancelling games like its a no brainer but without all the other relevant measures what difference does it make? I went to meeting in London the other day where between the train down, the tubes I had to get, the walk along the South Bank and the massive office I was in, I came into contact with far people than I would at the match. I'm not against cancelling games by any means, it just seems like some people are looking at the really obvious things and thinking they've found a solution, when in reality it's way down the list of issues.

I understand where you’re coming from, I went to London at the weekend for the match and used the tube, facilities and various other things where I came into touch.

I think as a whole, I’d rather be over cautious than under cautious, having seen what’s happening in Italy at present.

just make the initial precautions like most of Central Europe have of banning large crowds.

Go to B&Q, buy disposable gloves for outside when home and finished with them, bin.

The gloves are useless if you touch face with them after touching an infected surface, that's how the virus is transferred why go to the expense of buy gloves when washing your hands with soap and running water will suffice.
I think gloves give a false sense of security

Can’t understand why all these sporting events are being ‘postponed’ until some (currently unknown) date later in the year.
e.g. European Tour golf in India postponed, European weightlifting championships in Russia postponed, etc etc.
When do they think all this stuff can be fitted in? Nobody has a clue if this virus is going to last or not. Just cancel ffs.

Just minimise as best as possible. Rugby games have already been postponed now we have the first premier league game. Honestly I think we have 1 week maybe 2 left before all sporting events are postponed. What’s happening in Italy Spain will happen here.
