Agree with all that.

Might be time to give KDB one of the three player of the season awards. He's been for my money the best player in the league on the whole since he joined City (there's probably about 5 other guys max you could argue are better) and he's never won any of them. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me especially when City have won the title twice in that time. But every time they win magically a RS gets it.

His value is already dropping given how aging works. But he hasn't really dropped off that much. He slid a little bit because he hasn't been the best finisher that isn't Messi, but he still scores and creates loads. If you didn't think Mane was better at the start of last season I don't really so what would have changed your mind now.

Personally I think there is more to Mane's game than Salah's, for me you can bully Salah out of a game, you can't do that to Mane. Salah is probably the better goalscorer, but I think Mane creates more and makes more of a nuisance of himself. As I said would not be at all surprised if Salah is sold this Summer.

More to his game sure but does that matter? They're forwards in a system designed to give them very little to do other than to be forwards because of how Firmino drops, covers, presses and all that. They have the same job of scoring, assisting, creating and to me on the whole Salah is just better. The fact that Mane can do more doesn't really impact my thinking when it isn't what they're really ever asked to do.

And full disclosure I prefer Mane in a big way. For me Salah is one of those guys who puts on a good face so he can get the media love but is actually a tit like Son minus the part where he's a danger to everyone on the pitch with him. Mane feels more authentic to me which I appreciate. But Salah is the better footballer to me.

Dare I say it but Ancelotti seems to be getting there with a system, Richarlison and DCL, both young, hungry and fast with goals in them. Just need a fast, skillfull winger with goals in him.

How Carlo cultivates complimentary scoring to DCL and Richarlison is one of my big questions. It looks like the wingers have the freedom to get central so maybe that's the simple answer but it has been a long time since we got regular scoring from central midfield and I wouldn't mind that happening.

Yeah we definitely need more goals from midfield, ours are practically non existent. True about the winger coming inside a lot more, noticed that especially with Bernard, looks a better player for it as well. Need another winger though.

I get sometimes certain players deserve more recognition but providing more recognition and making someone player of the season are two very different things. Player of the season is for absolute standout seasons like Mahrez, Rooney, Vardy etc had, not simply being the catalyst that makes the team tick without ever actually standing out throughout the season. Mane should have a far better shout than Henderson for Liverpool alone imo

I'd say Mane is in that category too though. Henderson is obviously a bigger exaggeration, but Salah and Van Dijk have been the RS best players the last 3 years and nothing has happened to change that. The rush to acknowledge that others are great too, and they are tbf, does not mean we should act like they are suddenly better.

The same thing has happened with City too. Last year people went crazy for Bernardo and Fernandinho who are no doubt great players, but still not as good or important as Aguero or Sterling or a healthy KDB.
