I would count acts during psychosis slightly differently than true suicidal ideation (albeit with the same tragic outcome) as the person is likely not to be in a rational state of mind to make decisions and potentially reacting to perceived threats or command hallucinations.

You're right a lot of people act impulsively, some may experience a sense of peace when they have decided to commit suicide as they don't have to fight anymore. And some people work themselves up into such a state of anxious rumination they can't go on and act.

Everyone's different really, the important thing is for people to talk about how they are feeling and get the support and help they need.
Totally agree, under extreme duress I should have said and yes I also agree under psychosis one is not in control or deemed to have capacity to make them informed choices at that time.

And I do bow down to your knowledge and experience in the field too.
