ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I see our former gravy loving manager has identified Liverpool as a long ball team. With approval of course. Loves a long ball does Sam. Correct in saying no one else in the media would call them that!

Allardyce wasn’t being controversial, just stating facts that ManC and Liverpool often play long passes to great effect, in their array of attacking means.

"One of the best long-ball players is the goalkeeper at Manchester City [Ederson]. His long balls are unbelievably effective. So when you think you're tying them down he goes 'bosh' and the ball is in your box and Sergio Aguero is scoring.
"The top clubs have different ways to beat you. So this emphasis on playing out at the back is over-cooked. Over time it'll work its way out and we'll return to normality."

He added the Martin Tyler wouldn’t say this bit, as part of his self promotion whilst unemployed. He uses TalkSport for this every week.

Thanks for repeating what I said

“I know they’ve got a few injuries, and a huge game in Kiev in midweek. but it’s disgraceful how Manchester City disrespected the competition today”

(Alan Shearer Stamford Bridge 2016 - after the Chelsea game)

“I don’t have a problem with the team that Klopp has selected tonight”

(Alan Shearer 2020 - before the Shrewsbury game)

And people wonder why fans of other teams have a problem with the Liverpool bias?

Boss team
Wouldn‘t want to be one of them though.
They’ll fume when no one gives a toss about them winning it except SKY and BBC.

Step out of your UK bubble. They are becoming massive globally. The fall of Utd is helping as well. This is bad timing as India and large parts of China are up for grabs and with the Nike deal (which includes the likes of Lebron James, Drake and Serena Williams promoting them worldwide) they will continue to get bigger in America and in the lucrative Far East. Bad. Very bad indeed!

So in a few years they get swapped out for the next big thing by the plastic fans. Meh.

To be fair to Large Samuel he does have form on this. When he was Bolton manager and some pundit was decrying their long-ball game, Allardyce said' ''Everyone does it, but when Liverpool do it it's a raking cross-field 60-yard pass''.

They'll never be able to march Barca or Real in most places, PSG are getting huge all over the world as well.

Blimey its gonna be packed on their arena plaza and Walton Breck Rd then isnt it. The media will need extra interpreters for their vox-pop fan interviews. Extra job opportunities here though so good for the city ;)

Best case scenario yes. But the alternative is quite scary as millions of new fans join the PL fan base. Scary that is unless you are one of those who’s hoping for a breakaway super league for the top 4-5 teams.
