Sir Landon Of Donovan

Well, we are all entitled to our opinions. Personally I think it's disrespectful to his LA Galaxy teammates, coaches and fans for him to talk like he's still playing for Everton. Nothing wrong with wishing Everton luck, but this "we" business... Galaxy pays your salary, man. But then,... who am I talking about here? The guy who served his ex divorce papers a few days before her first Christmas after losing her dad. That's how he treats his wife, guess I shouldn't be surprised how he treats his Galaxy fans.

Whatever. I won't be making anymore comments about Donovan on this board, not unless he gets a transfer or a loan and becomes an actual member of this team. As far as I'm concerned this thread can be locked until then, what is there to talk about concerning this person?

HE'S A SELF CONFESSED FAN OF EVERTON FC.

Give the guy a break.

It's not like LA Galaxy are our local rivals. They don't even play in the same league!

So let me get this straight - your suggesting that every professional footballer only support they club they're currently contracted to?

So if I went to play for, say, Bayer Leverkusen, I'd have to be a Leverkusen fan?

Nonsense!

Landon has become an Evertonian, so when he says "we", he's talking about himself and fellow Evertonians.

Irrational hatred of a player who has shown this club nothing but respect and publicised us constantly in a massive market for us to pick up global fans.

This ^^

To be honest, I kind of understand where Greygoose is coming from.

If it was one of our players talking like that, about another club, they would get a lot of grief over it.

Can you imagine if Coleman was tweeting stuff like, "Blackpool played really well today. I think we'll easily stay up. Wish I could be there with you all. I miss rock."

I know it's different because we are in the same league, but do you catch my drift?

No, not really.

I fully accept Coleman enjoyed his time at Blackpool, and understood his reasoning behind not celebrating when he scored against them.

Beckford appreciated S****horpe in the same way.

Footballers are human, they were football fans before they were footballers and they're entitled to support whoever they want.

It's irrational and plain stupid to believe that just because a player joins Everton that they are instant Evertonians. All I ask is that they respect the club whilst they're here.

Landon isn't disrespecting LA Galaxy, so I can't see any issue whatsoever.

If Coleman talked about Sligo Rovers like that would you be put out, I know I wouldn't. Fair play to LD

Fair enough, mate. I do see your point, I was just saying that I could see gooses' side, too.

Thank you for understanding my point and not simply jumping on my back for daring to speak a negative word about a FORMER Everton player.

I don't have any irrational hatred for him. Way to exaggerate. My complaint was perfectly rational and justified.

Don't wanna bump this but it is funny - LD just had a Q&A session on Twitter.

Q. What was it like playing right midfield with phil neville in your ear all game?

A. Really annoying.

Q. Would you consider ever coming to play for Liverpool FC, mate? We'd love to have you there!

A. Nope.

Hehe
