...he gets in those positions, though, when starting out wide. Agree, he was supporting DCL but I do think he’ll score as many from a wide role. We won’t always play 4-4-2, it’s terrific how he gets into those goalscoring areas.

Ah right

BUT he isn't that effective on the ball out wide. He seems out of the game. In the middle he's always in it being an absolute nuisance. He's hte type of player who can play across the front 3/4 (which is a great attribute to have) but he's developed so well playing centrally and is by a mile the most likely to take a chance when it comes.I wouldn't change that and defenders will be scared of playing him knowing that he'll A. be good on theball and B. give them a hard time.

DCL and Richarlison have, in a number of games now, looked a very effective front two. I'd be surprised if we spent big on a forward this window, maybe in the summer.

Hes praised both of them and said Kean will be good once he adapts.

Easy to say he 'has' to compliment them but he hasnt complimented our centre mids :)

2 centre forwards both 22 with a 19 year old backing them up...its 2 positions ticked off for the long term.

Richarlison is top class and i think with some new stars in summer and pre season he will be hitting some good numbers in the goals column.

This is my Marco Silva theory. Great coach, bad manager. Two different skill sets.

By all means he had developed a couple of players, but tactically doesn't 'get it'. As you say, could be a very good coach for technique and player development. Not so much being the main man.

I've got nothing against Silva, he like any of us would have done our best at the job and probably failed. I don't buy some theories that he wasn't arsed because he wasn't jumping around the touchline every two seconds. I think he cared desperately to turn things around but if there was every two examples of a job taking its toll on a man.

1. Martinez going bald after 18 months of the job.
2. Marco Silva looking a broken man - by the end it wasn't even his fault he should have been long gone.

I think @Eggs Would be right if we played 3 up front.

Richarlison i think would be best as one of the players either side of a centre forward.

As it is, I think he is doing really well and looks set to be one of the best players in the league before too long...

I had this thought when he left... look at Tony Blair when he got elected and when he stood down. Or Obama. If Everton accelerates the ageing process the same as being a global statesman then god help Ancelotti

...he’s terrific in a central position, the best striker performance this season was his against a West Ham (I think) where he ran the two CBs ragged.

I do, though, think he’ll score as many goals from a wide position. From a team perspective, that makes us extremely potent if we have a prolific CF.

We wouldn't create as much in my eyes though.... however it's a guessing game until we get some competent midfielders on the pitch. At the present time I'd be more than happy to go right 'Richarlison is a striker' and bring in a more natural winger with pace.. Preferably a left footed right winger.

One thing for sure is that spending an eventual (when addons are paid) 50m on this fella has proven not 'to have broken football'

...he’s terrific is Richarlison, I like uncomplicated and effective footballers.

I really rated him when he came to Goodison with Watford in that ‘silly’ match. Players like Zaha flatter because they do step overs and go on mazy runs, but Richarlison just gets the job done.

Silly match where Niasse equalised by scoring with his arse as he fell on the ball?

Thing is thoug I'd love for us to have a flair player like Zaha, I appreciate he's not everyones cup of tea and I can take him or leave him without any fuss. We do lack that real "unpredictable" player out wide. Probably why I think Everton Soares would have been decent because he likes to get defenders stepping all over the shop.

Also not forgetting that a team having a "strongest xi" is a miss. Each game may require a different strongest xi. Having Richarlison who can play front three = very useful. Particularly if we sign a tricky winger.

...we’ll have to disagree on Zaha, Andy, I think he’s a circus footballer.

Should never have been taken on.
