Im incredibly optimistic. Great teams in any sport, and great businesses are all run by having the right people in charge. Its not even about who the owner is, but that the owner understands, as one put it "the importance of hiring people smarter than you". Its about those that lead the organization right below the owner. If the right ones are brought in, while it takes time, often years to see full results, those results can last for a decade or two. The two most important pieces to a club are its manager and who finds and negotiates for players. I believe we finally have the two best ones we have had in a long time here, so Im very optimistic about the future.

Im not naive enough to think Don Carlo can get us in a champions league spot, but I do think he can get us into Europe this season, and after the summer transfer window set the team up to legitimately compete for 4th for the first time in a long time.
you are mad

Ancelotti will be off first chance he gets, we are hamstrung by the incompetence of Moshiri and his chaotic management team. relegated within 18 months and you can vault me on that

utterly dejected right now
but with underlying optimism as always

One thing thats been bothering me the more I think about it is the abilities of the youth coming through.
They can play pass pass but don't have those finely tuned skills needed.
I would much rather see them near the bottom of the youth league and actually develop better skills than 'team winning' with passy passy.

Having players coming though with real skill and belief in themselves will make a big difference
Last weekend was a brutal brutal reminder of that.

I have more faith in Moshiri than anyone on the football side of the club. It's early days for Ancelotti and I expect he is shocked at the lack of quality at his disposal.

I am an eternal optimist when it comes to Everton after 54 years of supporting , with major share of the RS being on top it's the only way I have remained sane and I have no intention of changing , it's in my blood .
Yes this week after Sundays disaster it was a very bitter pill to swallow .
I believe with Ancelotti at the helm for an extended period it's only a matter of time we will be challenging for a CL spot and other successes , we need to get behind our Manager IMO he is the key we do however need a major player clean out
Call me naive or head needs a wobble its going to come right .

Im quite reactive really.

A few wins and I will be dreaming of CL again.

Just with the abject display, fans abusing players on twitter then going to FF, not really seeing any togetherness.

I mean im not stupid to think that these multi-millionaires are in "this" with me, but still.

I can be reactionary too, but big changes take a long time, that’s all I’m saying. Finish your medicine—just because you feel great on day 2 it still may take a week to recover from your illness.

Extremely pessimistic.

I think my optimism for the club probably died the day we signed Fat Sam.

That was when I realized a Billionaire owner isn't going to fix the problems we had just by being here.

Given the increasing rate of expansion of the universe and its inevitable heat death, there is no cause for optimism.

Just enjoy the days you have.

Fairly optimistic tbh.We finally have a manager with a winning cv.Sure Moshiri hasn't spent his money wisely at times. But all credit to him, for landing Ancelotti.Im not sure about Brands though.Failing to sign a replacement centre back, for Kurt Zouma was a massive era on his part.

Long term im optimistic so long, as Carlo is given the backing required, to overhaul the squad, get rid of the wasters, and get the players with the talent, and appropriate character and winning character into the club.On the short term though, i still see a lot of pain ahead.

The vast majority of this squad, just aren't up to standard, or don't have the mentality to play for a club like Everton. So it's a big job ahead for Ancelotti, but if a manager of his expertise can't turn us around, then no one can.

He's won some back from me by getting Ancelotti in but before that I was losing all faith in him turning us around.
Carlo is amazing scoup, but I dont think we have a squad that he can polish into something workable.
Next thing is Brands has to work on that, but Moshiri has to make sure he does it, the fact he hasnt is my worry.

Not just since the weekend though is it, we have had a problem with the culture of the club for years.

WE blame the same few players every week, but it’s much deeper than that.

Carlo is a massive step in the right direction, but we need to bring in a captain and a leader on the pitch plus the dressing room. Sort this out and it’s a major step further in the right direction.

so please no more silly arse lists of people we aren’t going to sign, January will loan with option to buy, unless we find a leader in the centre of the park

Saturday is huge, the reaction from the players, plus the reaction from the fans. If we go behind early......
