I just feel fortunate we have such a selection headache. Heity is winning me over again as I was royaly pissed at him for lackadaisical displays. But Jags gives it his all and I love that. Distin has been a relevation this year smart player and likes to keep the ball for the midfield to actually do something with it instead of bypassing them. With this I feel we won't go down just because of our back four. We just have to get Beckford & Saha to raise their game and get decent service again from our little Spaniard. Arteta can't be poor all year.

heitinga and distin have looked decent together IMO, i know its looking likely in johnny leaving, but im a fair believer, in if its not broke dont fix it

Moyes isn't though.

I think its pretty likely that if Jags is fit he will go back into defence in place of Heitinga.

He sometimes leaves players on the bench for 1 game after injury but no more than that.

Jsgs everytime for me, his performance at City was exceptional and he palyed there and Stoke whilst obviously not fully fit. Nobody gets an easy ride at Stoke and his own goal there for me was a foul by Fuller anyway.

Heitinga has been better at centre half but has still been making mistakes, some really poor passes across the field (sideways BTW) that went straight out of play and periods when he backs off giving far too much space to the opposition. Watch the 1st half of the derby again, better 2nd half as was the team.

Also those at Scunny will all have cringed when he got booked for going straight through there forward well after the ball, he could has got worse than the yellow for that challenge at put a game we were dominating at risk.

I do like the lad but really don't believe his heart is in it this year, something I personally don't think can ever be labelled at Jags.

How are people feeling about this now?

Well if Jags was still injured today and Heitinga wasn't here, what would have happened?

I'd only get rid if we can get someone decent in as a replacement for half the money we get for Heitinga, otherwise it's pointless.

He was pretty crap today but still rather have him in defence than Duffy or Hibbert at this stage.

Fella's

Just got back in from the game, would anybody still like to have Heitinga over Jags.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jags can hit it straight out as well, but at least he defends properly!!

Thats complete rubbish by the way - Moyes is very much a 'if the current player is doing well then he stays in' man.

Having said that I would have Jags back - not for his personal ability but he organises the rest of the defence better - in the last few games teams have walked through huge holes in our defence too often for my liking - this doesn't happen when Jags is there

At least he's scored for us, oh no wait it was a jarg own goal.

This ain't some Huyton buck either, it's a world cup albeit-sent-off finalist, he's awful.

Supposed hard man getting pushed around far too much by an average french striker all day.

Jags does organise the defense and he also pushs them forward / up the field.

But the main difference is one has lost his heart for the club after having a goodish season and making the World Cup final and believing he could do better.

What to do? Sell him now (if anyone wants him that is?) , use the money to buy a well needed striker. That leaves us short of cover at CB, if Jags or Distin picked up an injury, it would more than likely result in Hibbo getting a run of games at CB, not a pleasant thought.

Or sell him in the summer, taking no risks and leaving us with 3 decent CBs. Either way his days look numbered here, if he was sold now id like to see someone like Duffy make it into the matchday squad, and some game time if there were injuries to Distin orJags, but you just know Hibbo would be straight in.

I voted to keep him.

We're a Jags or Distin injury from being screwed with no backup.

Would Yobo want to come back and sit behind Jags/Distin? Not sure.

I also remember how damn good he was for us last year. Moyes needs to have a sit down with him and get things fixed. If he doesn't want to pick it up a notch or two, then yeah, I guess we get some money for him. But I'd rather he play like he can in an Everton shirt.

Not been liking his act of late but until we get someone else to fill his shoes we gotta keep him. Hibbert/Neville at CB is a death wish.
