THREAD UPDATE:

Everton have signed Eric Dier. LCAB/THT reported this 2 days before it happened, well ahead of the media.

Heitinga may be subject to a bid in the near future, with the funds used to purchase new players.

Everything else is at the rumour stage, Moyes seems ready to dip in for players but is biding his time.

Thanks Tubey.
I hope the Heitinga deal isn't struck too late or else we wont get time to spend any of the money again.

We wouldn't get that for Heitinga, nor should we sell him in all honesty, it just puts us back to square one, having to look for a backup centre back when we already need a wide player and a striker. Not worth the risk in my opinion, certainly not now. We are terrible at doing deals as it is, and there isn't enough time to be waiting/hoping that someone will come in with a bid. Two experienced players have already gone out as it is, it's a bit of a joke really.

Heitinga has also done well of late, I'd like to see him stay, personally.

Heitinga is overrated in the extreme, he looks so pedestrian on the ball sometimes he's in danger of being caught out. Sure, he's not a bad player, but given our situation of needing players, he has to go if a good bid comes in. We have ready replacements already within our team. Jags and Distin are first choice pairing. Rodwell is third, Duffy is fourth, and Yobo is only out on loan if Fener don't buy him. Four cb's is enough, especially with Mustafi allegedly doing well in the reserves, I see absolutely no need for us to have Heitinga when we're screaming out for a winger and a striker. Makes perfect sense to me, and I think DM is hoping for a big bid for him.

Rodwell hasn't played centre back for god knows how long, and looked very uncomfortable against Clinton Morrison a year or two ago in a pre-season friendly. He isn't considered a centre back anymore, certainly not for the time being. Duffy is a bit of a myth really, I've seen him play in a few reserves games, and he's miles away from being ready, and by no means a standout talent. There's a reason Hibbert and Neville are picked above him, he isn't anything special, and nowhere near our first eleven.

Heitinga's the most composed centre back we've had in a long time, and has done a good job in the last three games. We can't afford to finish the season with only Jagielka and Distin as our recognised centre backs.

I agree with most of your points mate, if JH goes I hope we are planning to buy coverage. Unless we are planning to blood a few youngens.

Would love him to stay as lOng as he is willing for the club.

Btw fellas, I've been here for ages, I just only post when it seems like things are getting out of hand, which is what I felt was the case with this Dier kid.

I know you're all desperate for signings but truth of the matter is the kid is not worth raving about - yet.
The high likelihood is that he won't kick a ball for the first team but we will probably have a go at signing him if he lives up to his reputation.

If we're linked with anyone for more than say, the £3m we got for Pienaar, at this moment in time you can forget about us signing them as we just haven't got the money to afford them, the signing on fee and their wages.

ie. Bousaffa - I'd love the guy he looks the business in these videos but its the infamous youtube curse - remember van der Meyde's.

All of yers, take a breath, chill out, let Moyes do what he needs to do, even if it takes until the last day he will (I hope) sort out a couple of loans and we will have enough to see us to the end of the season and finish in the top half of the table.

Any danger of us not acting like some small time league one side and actually buying some players? Thing is people say we shouldnt gamble and get into more debt but if we are relegated we'll lose £40m for a kick off and the rest so it doesnt make financial sense not to try and overstretch and get a bit of quality into the team. We've lose a striker with a good pedigree and one of our best midfielders and not even a sniff of a replacement. All this should have been sorted months ago. Pathetic.

The IDEA , I THINK . re; waiting for Heitinga dough IS to have fund . £12 / 15 million ...

THEN , at least , you could get 2 decent , 3 OK heads in .

Cheers mate, much appreciated aye. Time will tell...LCAB mention the name Luke Wilshire to S lol....I kid.

Cheers again for info mate.

Hahaha.

HE KNOWS , kid .

If we can get back the hell fire and brimstone Heeeeeerrrrrrrreeeeee's Johnny from second half of last season, then I say keep him. Folks, I really think that half the battle with footballers is them wanting to be part of the club and buying into what is happening on the pitch and in the locker room. Since the formation change tipping point with the win over Spurs, I think that it is possible Johnny has bought in to it all. Could be completely off the mark, but I know if people's hearts aren't into what they are doing, it's a mailed in half assed effort at best, and boy does that show on the pitch.
