Really harsh on the lad, but tbf, he done nothing but give away a few free kicks and ran around looking clueless. Won zero aerial duals and made zero impact going forward.

I'm not advocating the sub, but Niasse pressed and caused more trouble in a centre forward position in the few minutes, and it didn't cost us the result.

Personally though, I would have took Iwobi off who looked spent.

It felt wrong to humiliate a kid like that to me.

We've had years of senior pros doing far far worse on a far more regular basis.

He's free to make decisions as he sees fit. But it's not one I liked.

And how's that worked out? Kean's a senior Italy international - if he isn't aware that he's expected to put a shift in then it's entirely correct to remind him of that expectation. How understanding, as a customer, would you be if a 19 year old kid wasn't doing his job in a shop, restaurant, behind a bar or whatever line of business that he was working in?

It's football, you don't need experience to look interested and put one foot in front of the other with a little intent. It could be the kick up the backside that Kean needs. A desperately struggling manager passed his obvious talents over - that maybe says a lot about him.

Kean just strolled around when we were not in possession.

Not acceptable. The others had been pulling their guts out for the team.

Doesn't matter how young you are - if you haven't got the right attitude and approach required, you don't deserve to be on the pitch. End of.
That’s exactly how I saw it.

Be interesting so see MOTD’s take on it later and if they show his half arsed running to get up with play.

We had similar with Deulofeu he was a very good player but could never last the game, he does now at Watford. I was sad to see him go, bad management with him. Kean can go 2 ways get on with it train and get in to the team, or make a fuss and get frozen out, he should do the first and just get on with it.

No, it won’t necessarily convince people but it’s important for negotiations that Moshiri, Brands, Kenwright, Ferguson and anyone else at the club appear to maintain that stance.

“We’re happy to keep him, we’re in no rush to sell him” will always get you a better deal than “He’s trouble, he’s unhappy, he’s fell out with everyone and we don’t trust him in the 1st team”.

You have to remember who Kean’s agent is, Mino Raiola, he’ll be spouting off soon, how Kean has been harshly treated etc.

If it destroys him then he'll never make it to the very top of what he can achieve.
His call and his alone.
Hope Richarlison has a word with Kean tbh. You could see that Richy was mad when he was subbed last week but rather than sulking came back out today and left it all on the pitch. Hopefully Kean does the same, Duncan would probably be the happiest person around if Moise makes him look a fool by performing well next time out.

Show me where I said that

If he show desire to work hard and improve in training we must give him a chance to prove himself on the pitch. I don’t think he lacks desire as many have suggested, he is still putting effort maybe not the right end result.

And maybe Deulofeu has found his level at relegation fodder Watford after being similarly mismanaged at Barcelona, Sevilla and AC Milan.

Working hard to improve in training is the bare minimum I'd expect from a professional athlete. As for putting in effort, I think his manager made a judgement call on that today. Up to him how he responds.
