Compare and contrast to the Keane "trod on his foot" at Brighton - should never have been given, and the Delle Ali 3 minutes 40 seconds to review his hand ball, which clearly should have been given - both shocking decisions!

VAR decisions have nothing to do with luck. Why on earth have we replaced the subjective opinion of a ref with an equally subjective opinion of a VAR official. We were told this wasn't going to happen.
We were told one of the advantages of VAR was it would end suspicion of certain teams getting favoured by officials. But it hasn't. In fact it's heightened the concerns. Dermot Gallacher is talking his usual, inconsistent garbage. The true reason the blatant penalty wasn't given was not because the ref's decision was right, but because of the full implications of awarding it: Everton back on level terms, RS having to play 65 minutes with only 10 men, and VVD suspended for 2 or 3 games. No RS loving officials would ever give it. i dare say that if Dean had given it, Atkinson would have overruled.
Your point Sverre on why the incident has been ignored is interesting. When it was discussed port-match there was no in-depth analysis and lament. Indeed one pundit (an ex-RS) laughed and made a joke out of it.

These types of decisions, even before VAR have been going on for a very long time.
It makes me wonder that if all of the fans see it, our players must also see it, so does it affect our players and their attitudes?
It would explain why we have new players that seem excited and ready to make a difference, and then they too sink into what seems like apathy when they play.

The thing is that every club thinks they are hard done by VAR. It is the same way every team thinks they are hard done by with referees. It is human nature if someone makes a subjective decision then we tend to react badly to it. In the same vein prisons are full of people who somehow think they are innocent.
It is reflex mechanism, instead of looking at what we may of done wrong we blame someone else.
If it isn't decisions then it is luck. My favourite saying is from Gary player who said the harder I work the luckier I get. Maybe we just need to work harder and make better decisions.
