Who remembers the goalie Joe Harris? The only time we had 3 players with the same name playing in the team at Sheffield Utd away,, one Easter but I can't remember the score. Joe, Jimmy and Brian played in that game.

I think the fans just wanted a different name in goal and wanted to blame our shortcomings on someone, Robles was the one to take the hit that season.

Absolutely. Always thought Robles was a better choice than Howard but Martinez persisted with him and it was one of the things that got him sacked. Having said that any goalie would have struggled with Alcaraz in front of them.

I felt sorry for Robles. He always looked composed when he got picked but as soon as Howard became available he got dropped even though he didn't really do anything wrong. As you say he took the hit for another poor season.

He could become the first England number one to have two relegation on his CV at the age of 26.
Terrible goalkeeper, he only played 31 times for Sunderland they loaned him 6 times.
After his blunder at Anfield last year you would think he would go there with a point to prove but his positioning is awful he had 5 shots to save and didn't make one.
If I was Ferguson I would drop him for Lossl

Pulls off the odd worldy save which all keepers do.
Very quiet, I never see him organizing his defence as the other team attacks, never see him screaming unless the other team have just scaored.
Just doesn't command his area like other do.
There's more to be being a good keeper than shot stopping, a lot more
