I think he has alot more influence than people think.

He was involved in transfers again this summer (ironically our window was poor compared to the one previously that Brands was doing alone)

He's still our Chairman and will no doubt be having words in Moshiri's ear regarding matters.

I also 100% believe he was the one who got Denise her job as CEO - No way Moshiri appoints her and not a Sascha type character from outside the club.

He was involved in transfers under Koeman, but it came out after Koeman was binned that BK would no longer be involved in that side of things, and he was going to take on a more of an ambassadorial role, just be the face of the club, ie, regale people with stories. I still stick by what I originally said, he's no more than just face in the crowd now.

Let’s be truthful if you owned a business say a salon and you wanted to appoint a wedding hair specialist but you appointed joe bloggs from the local Turkish barbers you aren’t going to get the specialist quality are you?

If you appointed a Wetherspoons chef for a head chef in a Michelin star restaurant you are going to lose your Michelin star?

So why as a football club do we continually appoint specialists in the bottom half of the league and expect to succeed in the top half? Just isn’t logical

According to prenno on the echo podcast, Bill has been involved. And he was praising him ( which is no big shock as prenno is mr sentimental) for getting a great deal for Gomes.

Mate I understand we are all seriously hacked off with things at the moment but lets take a look at each of your points you're making here:-

A. How do you know he was still involved in transfers at the club during the summer?
B. Why would he be having a word in Moshiri's ear when Moshiri is effectively now the owner?
C. What has Denise done in her role so far that has caused you to put the supertrooper on her?

I am of the firm belief that Kenwright is well past his sell by, he did a job for us and steered us from near disaster in the nineties but I don't think he would have had any say in recent transfers and I do believe he is there as previously suggested in more of an ambassadorial role rather than an executive one.

I didn't know that mate, I just remember after the shenanigans under Koeman and Walsh BK said he was going to take a back seat when it came to transfers. Maybe they were words just to appease the masses then.

Handling parts of the negotiations for deals doesn't mean he is picking the players to buy. I have a sneaky suspicion that Rooney was Bill's and that was the last one. Brands would not be here if he was being told by Kenwright and Moshiri what players he needs to target.

I agree a 100% about Brands. And god help us if bill & mosh were picking the players.

And that’s why imo moyes will never be getting the job, Brands will target a manager who wants to play a similar style to silva, but hopefully with a lot more substance. So there isn’t a big turnover of players.

I just can’t see Brands every going for a negative defensive coach. And maybe silva will keep his job for the time being so Brands can get the right man in.

Brands though, if he’s doing his job properly, should already have a list of managers in place.

I find it the opposite, Bill was untouchable no matter what happened yet Moshiri spends hundreds of millions and takes a lot of stick.

Brands seems the untouchable one nowadays though.

BK took loads of stick mate when he had the reins, some of it was very unsavoury as well (getting confronted in the street) It's now Moshiri's train set, and he's obviously going to get stick, it's the nature of the footy fan, some will defend him, some will berate him.

Deary me. It’s still all Bill’s fault isn’t it.

Although Bill was able to keep us competitive whilst on a shoestring budget.

It’s defo Bill’s fault though.

Hold on. That was Moyes not Kenwright in what world was Bill Kenwright forcing our manager to sell his best players and using the money to satisfy banks ever rewarding of a pat on the back?

Why would Brands want to target a manager who wants to play a similar style to Silva? He had no role in Silva's appointment in the first place.
