not good enough

I thought we had an off night mate, one of them isnt it - we didnt play well but won. Im made up that were capable of that.

Perhaps its was the switching to 4-4-2, maybe it was the four changes.

But didnt think Zenit troubled us, even with 11 on the pitch.

Its mad how you see things differently isnt it? I thought Carsley was one of our better players and I thought McFadden was ineffective, Johnson wasnt much better either.

I agree with all of that but what about Jags, i don;t think he's good enough yet anjd it looks like he won't be:(

I'll be honest and thought that he wasnt too bad. His distribution is poor, either that or he's nervous. He's a better defender than what he is midfielder.

Thats sitting on the fence for you.

no comment ad infinitum

and now we see another sly remark, although more subtle than the last - ''only one having a moan all the time''

i have to call it like i see it, im not prepared to cover up mediocrity and pretend everything is alright. i have done my best to stay away from the following but... i was there yesterday, i saw the game with my own eyes, i heard the crowd, i saw the mistakes, and i saw a very good russian side with ten men pass rings around us in places.

its not a ''moan'' its a constructive criticism, the moment their player went off it appeared some of our players switched off - passes went astray - people stopped running and providing options. It was as though they thought the game was won and could see it out at a canter.

it comes to something when it takes the centre back to power up the pitch in possession to force the issue because of the level of lethargy around him.

I think your profession is as pointless as your posts. Or maybe your a traffic warden, because your certainly starting to get people's back up.

do yourself a favour, speak for yourself, using the word ''people'' to disparage me personally and call my posts/behaviour/language into question leaves you with no credibility.

if i am winding people up, let them tell me.

so far as you go, perhaps i should say whatever it is about my current demeanour that you dont like is my expressing my 'passion'

ring any bells?

this is a forum, the medium is the english language, and although im no pro, im certainly no novice. if your going to try to kick me in the balls, try a bit harder - because currently, i can see you coming a mile off.

*prepares to be flamed for this*
jags was bad, obviously, but he seems to just be off by a beat, and i still have some faith in him. he's been here long enough to be settled by now, but i'm not ready to give up on him just yet.

i think moyes might have used this game more for some experimentation than anything else, which is why he consigned yak to the bench and anichebe to a sub appearance (to see how we'd fair in february, although that doesn't explain starting pienaar). we tried the 4-4-2, it didn't work, but i'm glad we tested it out here in a cup competition when we had all but clinched progress, than in the league where we would be made to pay for mistakes like this.

the fact that we got the win anyways despite our less than perfect performance is just icing on the cake :)

gettin on my tits a bit, but i welcome the discourse.

sigh, looks like we'll have to wait till tomorrow for ghost to take the bait.

Well done, your tits will now improve:lol:

and Suits we are all Blues here and try as hard as possible to respect each others views as we have always done, although from time to time the attitude of some in here (not you) becomes very difficult to understand(y)

For what it's worth I agreed with Suits about the Spurs game earlier in the season. At times the performance wasn't good and the 3-0 flattered us.

On Wednesday, like I said earlier, the first half was very good I thought and we were opening them up just as easily as they opened us up in the second half. I think what happened in that second half was down to the midfield as they seemed to lose all shape. Cahill rarely looks completely at home in a four and Arteta was drifting inside an awful lot. It didn't seem as though Cahill moved out right to fill in and if he did he certainly wasn't effective there.

So yes, there are things to work on but it isn't the end of the world. We were all but qualified from the group so Moyes undoubtably used the game to rest a few players, try one or two new things. For 45 minutes it worked like a charm and had we taken our chances and gone in 3-0 up we'd be singing a different tune. The result is ultimately the main thing and we got that so we do at least have a chance to improve the performance for the sterner tests to come. I'm sure Moyes isn't resting on his laurels and will be looking for improvements.

Well I'm not going to take the bait from someone who seems to dedicate his life to shock on this board.

I just think moaning for the sake of moaning is just basically looking for attention. Look at me, Look at what I am saying!

On the other hand, if its that strive for perfection than fine. But to me, I just believe its typical moaning by an Evertonian. Evertonian's are happy best when they are having a moan about something. How come nobody complained when Sunderland had more possession in the 7-1 win?

For me, I don't give a [Poor language removed] if Jagielka looked off the pace at centre back. I know its a learning curve at Everton, and with games he will come good. As for Baines, I think he's just getting back to match fitness after so many games on the sideline.

The only concern for me was Faddy, but that's not just in this game, his decision making for Everton need work, and its something he has had since he signed for us.

At the end of the day Everton won 1-0, they had the most chances, we hit the bar, the post, one cleared off the line, and with a little more composure we could have won this comfortably. But 1-0 will do, that's all we needed. I've seen worse performances by the blues, believe me. Last night wasn't one of them.

So stop [Poor language removed] moaning, and turn it into a positive post. Your initial post Suits was negative, and I felt was an unwarranted attack on the team. It was a mature performance, and they got the job done. Christ Liverpool got to the CL final twice with that kind of performance. Getting the job done. Scoring more goals than the opposition.

I only questioned your committment because you attacked the side and were unjustified in doing so. But I have come to realise that you are like me in that you are never wrong. Shame nobody else see's that in you.

Ok, life has got busy for me, wish I could post 6000 posts on here, but I need to earn my money.

Don't talk about me when I am gone, ;)
