Computer games.

I'm not a fan of the way the industry in veering away from Physical copies. Feels much more like ownership....Plus if your console gets knackered then all the software you stored on it is goosed!

The prices for the special edition on the Square Enix website are eye-watering to say the least....
All the software is linked to your account, so if your machine broke you could download it again without an issue on the replacement mate.

Is there any decent sports games on the next gen consoles.

Used to be a decent variety for the ps3, the Tiger Woods franchise and fight night boxing series were always good, simple pick up and play games if there was a few of ye playing but now there doesn't seem to be anything there, seems odd.

Maybe I'm best off as I play way too much PES as it is.

Depends what you class as decent

NBA 2k19, NHL 19 are both good games to play with mates and also have dumbed down casual modes. The Golf Club 2019 is the main golfing game nowadays and is quite popular.

I do have one of the nba games which is decent enough.

I do miss the Tiger Woods games, it's a pity the McIlroy ps4 version is so bad, there just doesn't seem to be a great selection of sports sims for next gen consoles as yet.

What if the disk gets scratched? What if you misplace it? There's risk with every format. Not saying I'm not concerned about all digital sales but I find it much easier to pick a game from my library to having to go through my disks, out it in the machine and hope it loads.

Well I've my ps1 discs still in great condition but if you like to eat your dinner of your old discs, old physicals games are cheap to get and you wont lose the collection. Then ye have them to lend and play Frisby again. But I will admit saying all the positives of physicals one of the main reasons is that I like the superficial side off it. Going to the shop have a look about chatting to someone at the store have the thing in my hand and going home with it reading the back etc. And then just have it on my shelf to look at. I know that is the lamest argument to have but it means something to me.

I don't care how many games the FF7 remake is split between, as long as its massively expanded for every area. Supposedly, everything we've seen so far is the first part, with the first game ending at the escape from Midgar. All 8 sectors will apparently be open to explore with lots more detail and things to do, approx 50+ hours of content. To me, this approach will be perfect. The only doubt I have is how they will handle progression across multiple games.
