I agree with the anyone better comment, as I said its just another roll of a dice, we probably need to keep rolling until we get somebody able to smash the 7th place trophy every season then we can start looking higher.

I have my doubts, but theres a small chance this fella could do it. I mean if he doesnt, so what, its not like we are anything but a nothing club, whats another season wasted yano. I mean if people are terminally ill I understand the rush like.

oh my gawwwd !

I just want everton to do well..

I agree with this. We can’t keep chopping managers if we hope for stability. It’s just crazy how one result has changed everyone’s mind though. I need to see a bit more till the end of the season. Chelsea wasn’t the most convincing win at home either as we were very lucky not to be down in the 1st half. I’ll take it as a possible turning point. Hopefully

Yeah and we should’ve been out of sight in loads of games this season. We should’ve been 2 up in the first half at the Emirates, at least one up at Anfield. It doesn’t matter though because we weren’t, same with Chelsea. It works both ways.

Yeah I’m not on team ship him to China. Nothing would make me happier than seeing this suave, handsome man winning manager of the year and Digne receiving the Ballon D’or at Everton Football Club. I just think we came into the money too late and all of the other clubs have caught up. Only a spectacular man could save us from the endless cycle of mediocrity.

It's not really just one result though is it? Like, if you'd asked this question in the days before the first derby (let us not forget that this was only 4 months ago itself) it would have been virtually 100% in favour of keeping him. It would have stayed massively in his favour after the next 3-4 games before lurching after the Spurs game, and it would possibly have peaked after Millwall. That's because people would have been wavering, and then suddenly a bad result leads them to change their mind and decide he should go.

That's pretty much indisputable I think, that there was a slow, gradual increase in dissent until eventually people snapped. Why should the same not happen in reverse then? People wanted him out because things were bad, then we beat Cardiff which softened some stances, got a creditable draw in the derby which softened it further, and after a further setback won a game against a decent side for the first time in a long while. Add to that the fact that we kept 3 clean sheets, tightened up from set pieces etc, and it would actually be truly bizarre if people hadn't decided that he should probably get the rest of the season at least.

Of course it goes both ways, but that was before the debacle of Anfield (which I credited for the downturn in our season). Hopefully the Chelsea result is the turning point. Sometimes luck is all that is required

I said proper realistic names, Garcia is not a good manager, his win % is only 47% that is less than Silva and Mancini just causes arguments in dressing rooms and i have never seen anything with a single player say they actually enjoyed playing for him.

How do you know who's realistic and who's not?

Hate when people spout that saints fans would have said Hassenhuttl was unrealistic, Leeds fans with Biesla, Newcastle with Benitez etc.

Both Garcia and Mancini would do a darn sight better than the current clown we have.

You can look at games after that too though. In the space of about a month we lost 3 games 1-0 (Brighton, Leicester and Watford) in which we hit the woodwork a total of 5 times. Three games which yielded 0 points and we were about a cumulative 6 inches from it being 9. It really is a funny old game.

You’re not wrong. But there comes a point where you have to make your own luck. To be fair, we rallied in the second half against Chelsea so it isn’t like we were totally overrun all game. We have to continue that momentum.

I'd get Pep in

Do you really think Mancini would go to a club with no european football? i don't tbh. Im not convinced myself by Silva btw, i just think that some of the players are so bad that it does'nt help but that he has'nt helped himself either at times.

None of these names have proven they can take nothing clubs like Everton and made them good clubs.

They are a mixture of failures who havent won a thing and managers who have managed massive clubs in their countries.

None have shown they can improve clubs beyond whats expected, so please, tell me why any of them should be considered.

Leipzig were not expected to qualify for the Champions League under Hasenhüttl, Bilbao were not expected to reach a Europa League final under Bielsa and Valencia were not expected to win 2 La Liga's under Benitez.
