Written about Norwich........
"The demand for promotion in this league is huge, so much so that managers sometimes fail to survive a full season, let alone stay for a second.

That's particularly the case for sides sitting in mid-table who didn't quite live up to expectations and it applied to Norwich at the end of the 2017/18 season, but, unlike others, they opted to give Farke time to make things work.

The truth is that the previous campaign was one of laying the foundations. It allowed certain players who have come in to establish themselves as first-team regulars, but it also gave existing squad members a chance to prove they can work in a new system.

It even took part of this season to get things going. A 3-0 defeat to Leeds at the end of August saw them sitting in 18th, nine points off the top, and you'd have been hard pressed then to make them title challengers.

It's rare that a potential title-winning manager's future was under scrutiny in the same season they would achieve success, but that's the situation with Farke. A quick Twitter search shows the demand from sections of the Norwich faithful for a change as early as August."

I've seen enough over the last two games to see the difference at the back. Silva has something in him to rectify wobbly defence which was a bigger concern for me. If these two performances are the new minimum see no reason to get rid.

Not that interesting, and certainly has no place in this particular thread. :coffee:

Who are you? The forum police.

Puel and now the Roma manager have been sacked for underperforming yet we are too weak to do anything about our own situation which is quite frankly disgraceful action by our owner

Look at Roma they were champions league semi finalists last season and still got rid of their manager.

We are currently doing worse than last season and still keep this portugese muppet in charge

Not sure why his nationality has anything to do it it.

I would say we are being strong and sensible by keeping Silva. Roma are being stupid and knee jerk. Depends on what way you look at it. If we got rid of Silva then the new manager would have to go through the process of getting his players in and trying to get the unwanted players out......just like Siva. It would be a vicious circle of a management merry go round waiting for someone to strike lucky with a not too great squad. Stay as we are and give Silva his summer window to once and for all get his type of players in so we can judge him fairly. We still have large remnants of averageness within the playing staff that have no place here but getting rid is not as easy as it sounds. A well run club need to get rid to bring in and not add to.

I was firmly in the silva out brigade as you know.. but I don't see any point in changing right now

not unless brands has a target and he is available right this minute..

as I see it, silva is now auditioning for his own job, something he should not be having to do, as he should have us comfortably 7th, even chomping around arsenal for 6th really.

if the team perform well from here, and I mean 5 wins out of 9 .. then he might possibly stay.

if we win 2 and lose 7 hes defo gone..
