ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

As recently as December 2018 we went there and gave them a game. 5 of the last 6 at Goodison have been draws. As bad as our record is against them, we don’t just give up as soon as the whistle is blown, we’re not in the Watford and Norwich category.

My guess it was half in joke and I don’t disagree on that performance, it’s probably a bit sad that we value that we gave that a game so much but You’re right. However I’m certain Watford have beaten the RS since we last did , despite them giving up as soon as the whistle has gone . Fingers crossed that changes Sunday.

Watford have become a club I can't stand. Pathetic juvenile tweets..... they act the big tough to beat hard knocks when playing a team below top 6 but put them up against Liverpool.and they just roll over.
Along with some other clubs, they're like rabbitts caught in the headlights of big stand fc. They go there for the experience.

This. Our win record is atrocious but over half the premier league games at Anfield have ended in them not winning which considering the gaping quality gap for most of that time is a massive under performance by them and probably one of the better records of a team outside the top 6. Compare that to our record at Stamford Bridge or the Emirates where we routinely get absolutely stuffed.

Goodison is becoming similar. Yeah we’ve not won for a while but recently Spurs Arsenal City and Chelsea have been coming here and wiping the floor with us hitting us for 3,4,5,6. Liverpool have that one last minute Mane winner that came off the post for them.

They’ll do well to beat us convincingly on Sunday. If we play anything approaching decent form then they will once again be looking for a piece of luck to scrape past us.

I hate to say this but I know an other club you could apply that to

Apart from the two debacles under Martinez they have not ‘destroyed’ us at any point. There’s been a lot of draws and they have edged narrow games. Three of their last wins have been the Mane Goodison winner, the fa cup win at their place and Pickford gate. All three had extremely fortunate elements to them and were fairly equal games. We were the better side at Goodison last year and should have won no question.
