ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I think a draw is a decent result for them at Old Trafford because City would potentially have to win there then and hope Liverpool dropped points in order to get ahead of them. I think they’ve dropped a ball in the CL as they could have won the tie in one leg and despite their propaganda winning at Bayern is not as easy as they make out.

For me to feel that they are no longer favourites in the title race then they would need to lose to United and drop points to us. That would put City two ahead (presuming they win). But with United away still to play for City they could easily drop back to level or even behind.

It will be tight but it’s advantage Liverpool still for me and if they see off United then they’d have to do a lot to mess it up.

The last time I checked the bookies had City favourites and by a reasonable distance too (around 55-35%) with Spurs being around 5-10% chance. Thats quite telling. It's an enormous lengthening of odds from when they were 65% favourites.

I happen to think United will fall away soon. It's quite a good time for Liverpool to play them really, but once they are our of the Champions League that will have a big impact. That will deflate them massively. I think City will win there. They will want to prove a point and they seem to be gaining momentum.

Part of me thinks City don't look like dropping anymore points. I think Liverpool will drop more though. Too many challenging games. Once Sarri goes Chelsea will sort themselves out a bit, as they tend too once a manager gets moved on. Wolves will also be difficult. I don't think Newcastle away, especially with them wanting points to stay up will be a cake walk.

If they beat United it becomes closer to a 50-50 race. A lot is about bottle. I think they are too results away from capitulation though.

Yes, it could be argued that he didn’t mean to handle it but the ball had travelled quite a long way.....that defence is only ever legitimate when the player adjudged to have handled the ball is right beside the player taking the shot and literally has no time to avoid handling it.

Otamendi had plenty of time to see the ball coming

And I tell you this.....thise same people saying ut was an injustice would be hopping mad if EFC were denied a penno in that circumstance :)
Not sure about that last bit. EFC fans, especially on GOT, seem very fair-minded. They’ll rush to condemn a Blue who dives and will overlook refereeing mistakes against us (e.g. Millwall) and say that we got what we deserved anyway. Not sure that other teams’ fans would do that.

Yes. Best defence in the league. Bayern's best chance last night was from Matip shinning it straight at Alisson and they've got Van Dijk back.

Bayern, on the other hand, won't have their best defender in my opinion in Kimmich.

I'd say it's fairly evenly balanced, mind. But one goal for Liverpool and Bayern must win. Score draw sends Liverpool through. On that basis, the odds are in their favour..... for a change.
theyll lose at OT, Goodison and in Germany

Spurs are second only to Liverpool in my hatred list.
I never used to like them but under the current manager you’ve got to admire them .

I do hate that long drawn out ‘oh when the spurs’ song though , with a passion.

They were never very high on my hatred list though .

Liverpool then Celtic, Newcastle, Norwich ( Fck knows why I hate the canary beauts) and villa and Southampton.

As a New Orleans Saints fan, I really, really hate what they do to that song. Almost level with you-know-what in terms of gag inducement. Apart from that, I've got no issues with Spurs.

Norwich - dropping their pants to Suarez and then taking points from Everton never did much for their popularity with us blues.

Bournemouth are getting themselves in there these days. And of course Watford who are being southern kopites trying to invent a faux rivalry with us that just doesn’t exist.
