Safe standing at Bramley-Moore

The seat depths at Bramley Moore are 800mm. 760MM is the minimum recommended for safe standing I think, so that you can get two per woBehind the goal they could reduce the leg room and fit an extra few rows in

I would like to know how come the images that have been released which show a comparable size between yours and ours and our new home end dwarfing the kop, then only yield a 52k maximum capacity before standing comes into play.

How many seats are lost with the smaller north stand? That must be a fair chunk?

If other clubs don't have wide enough step treads or enough facilities or exists to cope with safe standing at a high ratio (i.e. nearly double capacity in some sections) then you would steal a march. Going up to 1:1.8 won't be a matter of simply installing rail seating and selling 80% more tickets. A lot of clubs might not be able to do it easily. What you're doing is baking in the possibility from the start. Taken at face value, that's smart.

I am a bit cynical about this though as it comes off the back of a lot of people being unhappy with 52k. Saying "we'll design it to get to 62k if the law changes" is smart, but also nicely convenient. Is there actually any evidence the law will change to allow standing at high ratios? Have the club simply given themselves a way of placating fans about capacity now, whilst at the same time giving themselves a way of passing the buck if the stadium never goes above 52k in the future?

I am cynical as well, I just dont see anything more than a 1:1 being approved.

However the 62k possible expansion was announced the same time as the 52k so it wasn't merely a "shut them up" exercise.

Well not quite as all the other clubs attendances will go up by the same amount (or more in Newcastle's case just so they pack more in than us and they never use seats anyhow up there). The reason we are getting a new stadium is to try and close the matchday income gap that other clubs get will in fact just remain the same as it is now.

No, you're missing an important point. If we build a ground with top facilities for the ordinary fan to spend lots of money each match on booze and food, we will have a huge advantage over clubs who didn't think of this market when they rebuilt ie virtually ever other club, so far.

Explain how exactly? We won't have any more food and drink outlets or toilets until the legislation comes along to allow safe standing at a greater rate than 1 to 1. We will just have the space around to upgrade and the larger access points. Nothing that cannot be sorted in another ground. How good obviously depends on the space in that stadium, but take Cardiff City for instance, it wouldn't take much for them to change in the same way ours will.

We build a stadium and anticipate an eventual capacity of 62,000. From the off, we build plenty of quality food and drink outlets to cater for that amount. We are therefore prepared to cater for the higher capacity, even though for the first years, the capacity is 10,000 fewer.

That's not necessarily true as the stand that they are putting the safe standing in will have a requirement for enough facilities to service the extra capacity. Thats the beauty of designing a stadium for safe standing rather than converting. We'll be able to facilitate a better ratio for that reason.

Don’t think we need to think about this considering it will be very unlikely that the stadium is ever built.
One thing I can guarantee you is that Everton’s brand spanking new stadium on the banks on the royal blue Mersey with Liver birds on the roof all looked down upon by Moshiri from the top floor of HIS blue coloured Liver building will be built before our neighbours who reside in our first home ever win the Premier league title
I am of course referring to the real Premier league title i.e the one that is given out to the team that sits on top of the league as published on th official Premier league site and not the lovable but seriously deluded Alternative Premier League Title

I reckon they’ll win the title this season unfortunately. Not sure what they’re title chances are to do with our new or lack of a new stadium.
