This club is a joke

See this is the reason Liverpool are doing so well, over the last 4 or 5 years they sell top players, but they have the replacement at the club first, so they don't miss them.

They learnt from the Lambert/Baloteli replacing Suarez mistake, I think Brands can do the same, but you still need the right manager

Bizarre logic. Two quite separate issues being conflated, and you lob in the second purely by association!

Firstly, Brands is clearly doing the right things. We can see that from one window and what he speaks about. He is implementing the identity of the team through recruitment of certain styles of player.

Secondly, the manager. A better comparison would be Klopp’s first 20 games. Were they at a run rate of 100 points per season? No, the improvement came over three seasons, building on a stable club that already had much of that structure and vision in place. He’s only just sorted out the defence, for example! And people were questioning whether he would ever do it after two.

We are right at the beginning of that process and from a much lower base. The signs are good that we’re heading in the right direction.

That was a great night. They couldn't live with us and Goodison was bouncing. How far away the current squad are away from delivering performances like that is depressing.

It really was a special group of players and they worked hard for each other. To think that feels like the 'good old days!

Brands is proven as one of the nest DOFs around. Silva though, I think we all thought he could take the next step up it here, working with better players but I think we’re just seeing the real Silva. The Silva that’s pretty much been there all his career, win some lose some. Nothing special, just Joe Average. If he was to get the bullet tomorrow, I’d take Bielsa in a heartbeat.

And join the rest of the compo gang we have over the last few years!

I honestly don't understand what some of you get out of being an Everton supporter. You are so disillusioned and in awe of other teams, you may be better off for your own health if you supported someone else.

If you ever thought supporting Everton would be easy, you are sadly mistaken.

This is the problem I feared when Moshiri came in, the fanbase got carried away far too quickly to the point where divisions have been forming for the past 3/4 years

You lot are far too impatient. It's going to take longer than a few months to get anywhere in this league.

We have the beginnings of something special. Pickford, Keane, Gueye, Bernard and Richarlison are top six-level players, unquestionably. For me, you can add Gylfi and Digne to that list but I accept not everyone will agree. Walcott, Lookman and Mina have the ability to reach that level too. That's ten players that, even if they aren't top six quality, can do a job as we add more. Imagine a proper goalscorer and a solid right back in there?

Silva I'm not 100% sure about, but the style of football he wants to play is the style we all want to see after that fat idiot's six month tenure of terror. Give him another summer, give Brands another summer and see what we have. I'd be amazed if we didn't fix our weaknesses and push on next season.

And push on means challenge for the top six. Not the top four. If we get there, great, but it shouldn't be the minimum expectation for 19/20. Klopp and Pochettino have years on Silva, the Manc clubs have money, as do Chelsea (probably). Arsenal are the weak link and the one we can overtake. They don't have as much money as the rest and on paper have a weaker first 11 (IMO). Once we're in, we establish ourselves and push again.

The only player in that list who could genuinely have a chance of replacing a player at a top 6 club is Digne at left - back, and then he would be up against the likes of Monreal, Alonso, Mendy, Robertson, Danny Rose, Luke Shaw.

Also, somehow I don't think Walcott would be getting anywhere a top 6 club again, and I don't get the Sigurdsson shout, if he is good enough for a top 6 club, then why didn't any of them show an interest when he was at Swansea, when in all reality his form for them was better than it has been with us?
