See this is the reason Liverpool are doing so well, over the last 4 or 5 years they sell top players, but they have the replacement at the club first, so they don't miss them.
They learnt from the Lambert/Baloteli replacing Suarez mistake, I think Brands can do the same, but you still need the right manager
 
You lot are far too impatient. It's going to take longer than a few months to get anywhere in this league.

We have the beginnings of something special. Pickford, Keane, Gueye, Bernard and Richarlison are top six-level players, unquestionably. For me, you can add Gylfi and Digne to that list but I accept not everyone will agree. Walcott, Lookman and Mina have the ability to reach that level too. That's ten players that, even if they aren't top six quality, can do a job as we add more. Imagine a proper goalscorer and a solid right back in there?

Silva I'm not 100% sure about, but the style of football he wants to play is the style we all want to see after that fat idiot's six month tenure of terror. Give him another summer, give Brands another summer and see what we have. I'd be amazed if we didn't fix our weaknesses and push on next season.

And push on means challenge for the top six. Not the top four. If we get there, great, but it shouldn't be the minimum expectation for 19/20. Klopp and Pochettino have years on Silva, the Manc clubs have money, as do Chelsea (probably). Arsenal are the weak link and the one we can overtake. They don't have as much money as the rest and on paper have a weaker first 11 (IMO). Once we're in, we establish ourselves and push again.

See it always comes back to balming one manager and letting the powers that be get away with everything. Sure let's just blame Moyes. That's easier to do then be honest with ourselves and blame the the people who not only allowed him to be so negitive but actively encouraged it. The people who could of told him at any point to stop and be more positive, the people who could of sacked him after he cost us the FA Cup final in 09 or the semi final in 11-12. The people who just dismissed pur woeful record againt the better sides in the league. Moyes was nothing more than a symptom of the sickness of the inner culture of cowardice and negitivey that infects the club. Moyes is no more to blame ultimately then Martinez was, or Koeman or Silva now or even BFS. None of them or anyone else will ever stand a chance while we have this attitude coming from the top.

Of all the players you've listed as being top 6 material not one is. You even go onto say that we can target Arsenal yet Walcott who couldn't even get on their subs bench last year starts every game for us.
 

It is quite depressing to think that despite much greater funds being available over the past 10 years we haven’t kicked on a jot.
 
We demand our team be top 6 because under Moyes we were used to it. Times have changed, the money has changed. We have an illustrious history but so do Nottingham Forest. I really dislike the entitlement our history seems to have given some of our fans.

About 5 years ago we were on par with the RS and slightly better than Spurs. We’ve regressed due to poor recruitment at player and managerial levels

Walcott is now too old and also mentally incapable of consistent improvement. He might shine in the odd game but just like
his game yesterday he is not productive nor consistent enough and he gives me the impression that he is happy with his contract money
and not too bothered.

Mina, other than the odd mistake, is clearly international standard and Lookman has potential and deserves a long run of games.
