i'm an american and i've only been following efc for 3 years now. does liverpool consider us to be their biggest rival or do they try to downplay us and say that their "true rival" is man u or someone else? and how exactly do you pronounce gwladys? i want to make sure i get that right. whatever the answers i know for sure it was worth waking up 3 hours early and spending 30 minutes searching for a working stream on a weekend to watch us beat them this morning. its been almost 14 hours since the match ended and i'm still pumped up and can't wait for saturday

Im an American too so don't take my word for it but I'm pretty sure Liverpool consider us their biggest rivals. I'm not sure about this but I think it's pronounced Gwa-lad-ees. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. That's the way I heard it pronounced by one of the commentators today.

Depends on the Liverpool fan but I think most consider us their main rivals.

You sometimes get some of the knobheads being condescending and saying that we care more about them then they do about us and that their real rivals are the Mancs but thats mostly just to wind us up. It was more common a few years ago anyway, they can hardly pretend to be miles above us now.

with out doubt we are the main rivals followed closely by man u every r/s i know says this .
as for the gwladys you say it just like the womens name gladys just spelt differnt sort of silent w

I dont know much either mate, but if you quote wikipedia like Matt Damon everyone believes you know what you are talking about.

Depends on the fan, and even their mood. Most locals would say us, but they put more stock in beating United. They're not too hasty to say United are their main rivals because the simple fact is, we're their nearest neighbours, they just hate United out of jealously.

I don't give a fck what the meeja says. Liverpool vs Everton is the oldest, biggest, and best rivalry in English football. The fact that they are from the same town and have dominated English football for spells is amazing and a credit to Merseyside. It fuels the rivalry. Liverpool/Manchester Utd or ManU/Chelsea isn't really a rivalry, it's just a matchup of the (so percieved) top sides. If Chelsea or Citeh didn't have the millions that they do, these clubs wouldn't be mentioned.

Liverpool fans will make out that United are their biggest rivals.

This is because they are deluded, and arrogant. This rivalry isn't completely reciprocated, because United fans, whilst they hate their guts, have more pressing rivalries. Like the ones at the top of the table.

But I think Liverpool's biggest derby next year will be the merseyside one, without a doubt. Liverpool vs Tranmere, that is.

Its Gladdys , btw .

Take no notice of the RS lad .

Watch the faces on their fans yday . THAT tells you everything you need to know .

It's us. Not Manchester United.

If any Liverpool supporter says differently, then they're lying (and full of [Poor language removed])

Morecowbell. Ace name by the way one of the best SNL skits ever.

Always been us and always will be.

The media try to hype the UTD trophy thing. But the Mersey Derby doesn't take a back seat to anything believe me.
