7th gets us Europa League which

A. Attracts better players

B. Another chance to win a cup

C. A chance to qualify for the champions league should we win it

Those who say 7th and below doesnt make a difference are completely wrong imo.

A. It doesn't
B. We wont
C. See B.

Jib it off. Modern football is rubbish.

Oh and we wont win the FA cup either even though I said we should go for it. We will get knocked out by one of the BIG SIX's reserve sides who will then go on to contest the final with another of the BIG SIX's reserve team in a match being played at a stupid time in front of an apathetic crowd who couldn't give a toss if they win it or not.

Boss.

Most players want to be playing in Europe mate, the CL obviously but below that ask any player and european football is huge.

With the attitude of we have zero chance of ever succeeding why do you even bother supporting us mate?

Not questioning your credentials btw just think its pointless putting yourself through the heartache of Everton if you think we shouldn't bother trying to qualify for europe.

I agree on the FA cup however was fuming Silva threw the League Cup as its our best chance of winning a trophy.

7th should get us EL football and it is a symbolic indication for the best of the rest. Silva simply has no excuse here for not beating these crap teams at home. He has to deliver. And further progress in the next season or two is to break into top 6.

He will not be sacked if we don't finish seventh.

Which is all true, but very sad.

The cups have been reduced to nothing very much at all.

It`s Champs League or nothing.

Even that's crap. Same teams in the final stages. Gone are the days when a Red Star Belgrade, 1FC Magdeburg, Dynamo Tbilisi or even a Marseille could make a decent run in a prestige European tournament.

There is a massive difference between posting on a forum and supporting us though.

It is not a case of supporting us though its a case of being incredibly bored of football in general. Its the same old thing, Leicester gave everyone a brief moment of hope and then the big clubs started sniffing around and took their best player before he was even off the pitch following the lap of honour.

I don't think playing in the Europa League is huge for any player really. Some may say it but really they would probably prefer Thursdays off rather than traipsing over to Kazakstan or wherever for a dead rubber group game watched by nobody. It barely registers in the mind of the general public let alone the players.

I'm not saying we shouldn't bother trying to qualify (I never once said that or even hinted at it.) because at the very least the fans of the club get some days out to make some memories and all that.

My attitude of never succeeding is strictly limited to places like this site. It doesn't effect anything anywhere else.

This really isn't an Everton thing. It's a football thing. The game itself has become tedious. If we have a good or a bad season we still end up with the same thing, zero. I have seen us win stuff and as time goes on the chances of seeing it again seem more and more slim. 95% (random number but bare with me) of football clubs do not compete any more, they merely "exist".

Modern fans have no patience, we could build something good if any manager was given time however as soon as you start to look a threat the big clubs start taking your players and the circle continues.

Boooo football.

We have one.... and I didn’t think brands had a say in managers just players.
aslong as Moshiri doesn't but in I don't care, Brands will very obv have a very big say in it.

we cant trust our Persian overlord to make anymore footballing decisions, he should stick to VAT returns

nice to see you back matty

We dont choose, we are chosen and I dont mean Everton fans, I mean football fans, I mean some fans do pick their team, im almost certain I wouldnt pick Everton.

But yeah, modern football is a joke, its about money, money, money, its about making money, spending money, charging the fans to make money and of course winning trophies, yes you guessed it, to make money. But still I love it, well not it, but football, the footy is just great, what else you gonna do? We cant turn off supporting Everton, my God I wish I could.

I still enjoy football and the concept of it anyway.

One of the biggest turn offs for me in recent years was players acting snide when they score, not celebrating (I don't mean in the respect for an old club way, that's another issue entirely) the likes of a Sturridge not even breaking a smile when he scores and instead just stands there trying to look hard etc, its crap. The fans are paying to watch you and you sneer at them?

I'll always support us whatever we do, I think that's just a given, it's what you do, but in all honesty I cant say I watch any other games apart from ours and international tournaments these days as it's just horrendous to me. Actually I may watch some foreign stuff (not La Liga) when I am up to it, but I don't watch any of the "best league in the world", too many snides.

Funnily enough if I was to choose (ie I wasn't from here etc) I probably would choose Everton as they tick all my boxes. Traditional team, good morals, unique ground, somewhat fallen giants etc.
