I hope he's just going to see this through for at least 3-4 years. The early signs are great, and if he goes after one season to, I dont know, some Europa League Seville, Porto, Monaco type club, then we're back to square one. There's a lot of good in this season so far, but my only doubt is this thing that he might find a better job if he does well

Are people serious in wanting a new manager?
Yesterday’s plan was working to perfection until Mina messed up, we should have been 1-0 up at that point, if Richarleson didn’t bottle it.
At Anfield we should have been up in that game as well, the guy has got us going to these places and having a proper go.

We have played the two hottest teams in Europe and given them a good game.
Are time will come just be patient

Breaking into the top 6 is such a mammoth task these days. The league isn't like it was that freak season we finished 4th. Man City hadn't long been promoted back then and Spurs were relegation candidates.

If we do well we will come 7th.

If we do badly we will come 8th.

The whole thing is pretty pointless really.

Go all out to win the cup, at least its something tangible.

7th get you EL spot and it is an indication for being the best out of the money clubs so it’s essential to do it.

If not, getting 8th means there is no progress from last season after the money being spent.

There is a massive difference between posting on a forum and supporting us though.

It is not a case of supporting us though its a case of being incredibly bored of football in general. Its the same old thing, Leicester gave everyone a brief moment of hope and then the big clubs started sniffing around and took their best player before he was even off the pitch following the lap of honour.

I don't think playing in the Europa League is huge for any player really. Some may say it but really they would probably prefer Thursdays off rather than traipsing over to Kazakstan or wherever for a dead rubber group game watched by nobody. It barely registers in the mind of the general public let alone the players.

I'm not saying we shouldn't bother trying to qualify (I never once said that or even hinted at it.) because at the very least the fans of the club get some days out to make some memories and all that.

My attitude of never succeeding is strictly limited to places like this site. It doesn't effect anything anywhere else.

This really isn't an Everton thing. It's a football thing. The game itself has become tedious. If we have a good or a bad season we still end up with the same thing, zero. I have seen us win stuff and as time goes on the chances of seeing it again seem more and more slim. 95% (random number but bare with me) of football clubs do not compete any more, they merely "exist".

Modern fans have no patience, we could build something good if any manager was given time however as soon as you start to look a threat the big clubs start taking your players and the circle continues.

Boooo football.

This is not always the case. Martínez was given 3 seasons. Not everyone is Moyes.

Yeah I know all this.

At the end of the day though it means nothing.

I think it's healthy to question him, even at this early stage.

If Silva is the man for us, we will see that eventually if things click.

Next season will be far more pressurised for him, so this current run should be easy for him to take.

It isn't all about results at this stage actually, and Brands and the other brass will have a continual assessment of where we are and whether we're on track or not.

It's good for fans to question, it shows they care is all.

I understand that sentiment a lot. But I do think the UEL offers a genuine chance to progress in a competition, or maybe even win it.

The embarrassment of last year in the group stages has just served, understandably, to put people off it.

I think it's important to have something to show for your efforts at season end, even if it's only qualifying by default really.

I'm not saying don't bother qualifying or anything but it always ends up being a bit fruitless and gets in the way of League form. I'm not saying that from my point of view but how the clubs seem to treat the competition.

It annoys me greatly because the UEFA cup was a great competition.

I would say that it would depend on where we DO finish if not 7th. We finish 15th he deserves to get sacked.

Not really.

If we finish 15th it'll have been a poor season - obviously - but I don't think he'd get sacked. And I'd be glad, because we're trying to build something.

I don't see us finishing outside of the top half, but regardless of position this season is about moving forward and it's quite clear we've done that in terms of the level of player we're bringing in and the football we're playing.
