I don't remember a team creating this many chances against City at the Etihad.

Richarlison had two, Walcott had one, another for DCL. Same against the RS with Gomes and Mina.

Need to start taking our chances but I can see bundles of progress.

Exactly this.

Don't forget some good chances at Chelsea too, also Bernard at OT.

Oh and we need strikers.

The bedwetters will still wet, it's what they do best.

...Allardyce’s Everton had 27 points on Boxing Day last season, we are sitting on 24.

Saying that, I think we have progressed. I seem to recall Silva’s teams being a bit streaky in the past, having winning runs and losing runs.

Means absolutely nothing that.

We're trying to do something completely different with still some of the same gutless no marks and people continuing to harp on about Allardyce doesn't help.

Why not compare at February or April or May. Why boxing day? No context whatsoever.

4 games without a win now (likely 5 with Spurs coming up).

All gone wrong for him.

If we can sign a CF and RW in January im confident he can turn it around second half of the season but the current slide is a worry.

I think you have to keep in mind these chances were created when there were two goals in the game. Thought we did okay overall. Having three centre halves who aren´t very comfortable on the ball didn´t do us any favours.

Absolutely. At the end of the day though, it's a results business and until we start taking these chances and getting results we're making it easy for people to moan.

A centre-forward and RB in Jan will go a long way to helping that out.

No mate, we should have gone one up, Richarlison.

Richarlison's first at 0-0... should have absolutely buried that. That's 17 games agains the 'big 6' without a goal for him. Desperately crying out for a fearless striker.

We need to improve in both boxes. Not enough goals. Not enough clean sheets.

We have too many tidy footballers who are more attractive on the eye but don't effect a football match at either end.

We are a Waitrose version of Southampton at the minute. Over time that needs to change.

That was Allardyce football at its pinnacle. At least the standard of football we have adopted now has the potential to take us much higher.

There will always look like progress when you take over from a manager like fat sam.

Im 100% behind him and think he will get us sorted if we stick with him. He will get things wrong in terms of selection and formation at times. Hopefully he learns from these mistakes and puts it right.

If I had to fault him recently, it has been that he's been very reactive in his substitutions and does the "crap manager" tactic of waiting until 60 minutes to do anything, which is a pet hate of mine - not calling him a crap manager, I'm just saying that it is a trademark of crap managers.

Today, I would have preferred the half time subs to go more aggressive. If he had, perhaps we don't concede the second - who knows.

We absolutely are. Kills me that we spent £25m on Tosun, that money could have been put towards a quality striker that would really help our team.
