Henry Onyekuru

I've got no problem with it. I do think it's a bit weird that when we bought him we basically had no depth in his position so it looked like a first team signing and he's not been eligible to play. But that's really it. I hope he comes through cause he looks exciting but if not he will fetch at least double what we paid is my guess.

Oh...I never looked at it as a 1st team signing. I looked at it as a club with a bit of dough throwing a dart.

At the time we bought him I think Bolasie was still hurt so we had Mirallas, Lookman, Lennon, eventually Vlasic and Gylfi out of position for wingers so until the work permit thing happened I really though we were planning to at least try him. He had just led the Belgian league in goals playing for a bottom half team as well and apparently all sorts of teams were after him. I really did think he was a first teamer.

The kid is 21. Of the top 15 players in minutes played in the league, there are only 3 under 28. Think about that. Onyenkuru, Kabak, and Gumus who is 24. Henry is starting virtually every game for them and while not tearing things up, is second in goals. He’s doing fine.

...I presume he can’t be an option in January (because of the terms of his loan). Indications/rumours that a few of the bigger clubs are interested in him so it does surprise me that he doesn’t always start for Galatasaray.

Tbf, he'd be fairly low down the pecking order if he came back now, so may as well keep him on his loan, it's a really good loan.

Then Silva can get a proper good look at him in the summer.

He’s started only 3 of their 6 CL matches, but played in 5. He’s third on the team in minutes in the league, though, and started almost every game. So he is starting about every match and getting a ton of minutes.

true, i always view him as a right winger, i think he looks really good though tbf. But yeah, he is a striker, i still think he'd be low down because he'd never have a chance to show what he can do in games.
He usually plays on the left for Galatasary and did the same last year with Anderlect. Basically how Richarlison plays on the left. He’s played a couple games on the right, too, but I don’t think he’s a CF.

For me he’s in the same category as Vlasic, Dowell, DCL and Holgate . If he was with us I think he’d be unproven yet as a first team starter for us, if he was in our squad you’d be thinking he really needed more game time, so next question would be does he need a loan . The fact we haven’t got a permit yet means we’re forced to loan him out as in some ways worked out well, it’s costing us little, he’s getting game time, we reevaluate in the summer and at worst we should get our money back on him.
