Right boys, I've completed my computer simulation of this game using PES.
Tosun
Richarlison Bernard
Gomes Siggy
Gana
Digne Mina Keane Coleman
Pickford
Tosun chosen for his physicality in this match. Game started a bit tentatively, with rs pressure, the first time Everton got the ball and released Coleman up the wing, there was a small scuffle where Bernard clipped a player and Coleman got booked for it on 5 minutes (realistic reffing). Oh it's THAT kind of ref - ease off the tackle button for this game then.
After Bernard missed a sitter, the rs hit the post with one attack before Richarlison was put through to make it 1-0 in first half injury time. The dog looked at me strangely for leaping out of my seat fist pumping.
Mina made an essential goal saving tackle in the penalty area from the resulting kick off - this in the 49th minute, despite there being only 1 minute injury time (realistic reffing). The rs finish the first half with 62% possession but 1-0 down.
69 minutes - after some nice interchange by a purring Everton team, Bernard, put through by a cute pass from Tosun, misses another sitter. Subs (due to fatigue) Richarlison for Lookman; Walcott for Siggy.
Seconds later, Walcott one on one on the break misses a sitter. Lookman dribbles into the penalty area and brings off an awkward save from the rs keeper.
Yeeeeeeeers! Bernard threads Lookman through with a peach of a ball towards the penalty spot and Lookman makes it 2-0.
90th minute, Tosun put through on the break to miss a one on one narrowly wide. 3 mins extra time announced.
Goooooooooooooooooooooooal! 92 mins - Lookman dances past 3 rs defenders on the edge of the box before releasing a thunderous effort to the far post to make it 3-0. Everton have absolutely owned this second half.
Top players (according to the computer: Mina, Coleman, Richarlison, Tosun all 7/10; Lookman 7.5/10. To my eyes, Gana motm for his total ownership of any rs attack.
I'm not a gambler, but for those of you who are, go forth now, safe in the knowledge that computer modelling has put this game firmly in the hands of the glorious blues.
