I dont expect to get anything out of this. We are definitely getting better but the RS are way too good at the moment even though it kills me to say it. The last few years derbies have been mostly embarrassing on our part so i will be satisfied if we show no fear, get stuck in, play to win (as we have been doing recently) and give them a proper game. If we do manage to get any points out of it i be absolutely ecstatic.

They really aren’t too good at the moment. They have had some decent results but not through playing well. They tend to have a good 30 min spell against teams where they manage to get a few goals but their results have flattered them.

Recently they have played Watford who have started their usual decline after a good start, Fulham who aren’t good, Cardiff who are bottom of table and who just rolled over for them. But against any half decent teams the results have been close and only winning by one like Leicester or brighton.

They are grinding out results and Fulham and Watford should have both been ahead if not for some refereeing decisions.

They also have to play PSG tonight and are noway secure of qualifying for the knockout stages so will need to field a strong team. We have a really good opportunity this weekend to take it to them and use their high fast press against them as they won’t be able to maintain it.

First time in a while that we go into the derby with a fully fit squad. Them having a huge champions league game today certainly doesn't hurt our chances either. Up the Blues.
Almost like the time for ko has been give on purpose for them to recover lol,as i cant even remember the last time we koed on the sunday that time, usually early sat,or early sunday at worst-anyway none of that matters as long as we go into the game not thinking we have lost before we kick off,and i dont think we will as for me we have done well every away game

I hope PSG do a number on them tonight. Really hit their confidence.

We’ll have had 3 or 4 extra days to prepare for this. Let’s hope that makes a difference.

cant speak for everyone else here mate but who cares about a point in derbies? is it just so we can say oh we never lost again

we got a few draws but then bummed in the other half of them, id rather we win a few now and then by having a go and take some beatings along the way then just take beatings anyway but have a few more draws

Weirdos mate.

Weirdos mate.

I wouldn't mind a draw now it's a good result, but im talking in general, someone posted a stat saying weve drawn so many derbies out of so many, but we haven't won once since 2010 is it? so we can't be happy taking draws every other derby for 8 years but not winning a single one

also saying I'd take a draw isn't the same as being made up with one

I would have prefered a referee with more experience, sure he is not Jon Moss but he could easily crumbe under the pressure coming from RS dominated stands. Tough.

Michael Oliver or Anthony Taylor would be much better. But oh well.

People are letting two bad performances under Martinez colour their view of this game. Statistically the most prevalent outcome in this fixture is a draw. Liverpool have won less than half the Anfield derbies they have played in the premier league. We drew both fixtures last season, should have won at Goodison and arguably were the better team in the cup game too and that was when we were absolutely turgid. They’ve hardly blown away anyone this season and we are going into the game (hopefully) with a fully fit first choice 11 all in good form (when has that ever happened for us). Worse Everton sides than this have gone to better Liverpool teams and taken points off them. Everything points towards a tight game. I think West Ham is the only game we’ve conceded more than 2 this season. Nothing points towards us getting absolutely smashed other than if we don’t do the things we’ve been doing in the last 13 games.

They will be hoping against all hope that it turns into one of those games where we self capitulate and they stroll away with it in the first half. If that doesn’t happen and god forbid they don’t take the lead then they’ll realise that they’re in for a tough game and all the onus is on them to win it.

This is true but a draw there these days and I walk out very disappointed, its not a result im happy to take.

Also that West Ham one is interesting, Keane was out for that, just shows how important he has been this season, and to think there are a few who would like Mina and Zouma to start this one

Everyone would love a win but the reality is that these top 6 sides are not even losing at home to each other that much now. If we match them and play our football and it turns out a draw then it’s more positive for us as we have the opportunity to win at Goodison then. They have to win, no two ways about it, we don’t which should take the pressure off us. The media usually crank up the whole ‘it’s now or never’ story to put the pressure on us but this should be a free swing for us. They’re expected to win and as self proclaimed quadruple winners elect anything less than a win will be a failure for them.

What a time it would be to break our hoodoo there and end their 'title hopes' once and for all.

Can't see it happening like, but I'd take a point right now either way. The pressure will be on them, so we need to try and work with that.
