Can't believe the negativity. Yeah they concede few because visiting teams always lose mentally before the match even started. Look what happend when Serbian champion Crvena Zvezda took it to them and destroyed their confidence in the first half, it could have been 4-0 even in that first half. Maybe we won't have the crazy Belgrade atmosphere with us but we will have much better players, we should not lose this one bar a blatant referee intervention.

Its funny this problem of us not being able to beat them at Anfield!
I really don't understand how a club, with so many different people in the playing staff, and coaches etc, can be plagued by the same inferiority complex and losing mentality in the derby and against Top 6 teams, unless the blues, or older players really have a negative influence. Is it really possible that people like Baines, Jags, Barkley, Coleman and maybe McCarthy, were so troubled by this that we just couldn't beat them all these years? or Dunc and the backroom staff are sharing this sense of nervousness and pressure? Or are they reading the reports and getting under pressure about this 10 years since a win etc

Whatever it is, here's the first chance in a long time that we have players from big teams - Ex Barcelona, Brazilians, Pickford, Mina and Lookman - all players who seem to have done well under pressure and may not be affected by this problem of the Derby jinx

!Maybe it really needed this big overhaul of staff to bring about a more confident and positive mentality against big teams.

Perhaps they've all been reading the pre-derby thread on here........

We're in a good run too. And they'll have to beat Pickford to score. We competed well at Chelsea - even though Pickford was Man of the Match.

Chelsea and Everton have now had eight goalless draws in the Premier League. I don't think history has a great effect on the future, but only Everton v Liverpool has seen more, with nine.

I've decided to let myself fall into the trap of mouthing off to Liverpool fans about what's going to happen, although, to be honest, that's more because I have faith in this team's willingness to have a go than a belief that they'll win.

I'm feeling good about Everton at the moment.
