If Keane starts burying some of his corners, hed be really hard to take out of the lineup. Hes been much improved in defense with Zouma covering, and he wins so many headers in defense and on corners, he just needs to start placing them on frame. Palace really just had 1-2 real attempts on goal in the whole game, and 1 was from a free kick. Good to have a problem of wondering if Mina should play immediately.
Yeah but he's terrible at those. He'd had SO many opportunities and he's just balls'd them up completely.

Lescott was the last defender we've had who was actually a "worry" with set pieces.

Keane has been about ten times the player we saw last season. Started in the game he done his head in (he played great prior to the injury). Absolutely zero critical mistakes, he's cut out the risky passes in defence and looks actually aggressive and physically imposing.

I don't think he lost a single header yesterday. As somebody mentioned, if he can add the odd goal he'll become that player we thought was worth spending 25-odd million on.

Huge congrats to him on the improvement and clearly there has been massive work done with him by the coaching staff in training - you don't get two new centre halves in only to keep Keane in the side over 25m Mina who is now fit.

I'd even say Mina can't be starting as long as their partnership looks as solid as it does - Zouma has slotted very nicely into the side with his calmness and ability. Clearly that may change we are were done in by quality players against Arsenal and will face Lukaku, Martial and Co next time out, but he's earned his place and it's up to him to keep it.

Its about blend though. There are not many players in the prem who are not pretty good but a group that complement each other is hard to put together. Without a Ratcliffe a Mountfield would be a slow lump. Likewise a Lescott without Jags. Put them together and excellent.

Much improved the last few games, best form he's been in while here.

That ball out of defence to set up Cenk was brilliant.

Much improved. Better than Zouma yesterday in my opinion.

Think that may have been a lucky clearance to be honest.

Nah you don’t side foot a clearance that was controlled. Give him his due. He tried to do exactly what he did. Although whether he is capable of it consistently is another matter

Well said Monsieur.
