To be fair we sacked Allardyce for more than just the league position. Moshiri always wanted SIlva, the football we played despite finishing 8th was never ever going to get us higher, as in a long term plan to be attractive to the better players in the world.

There was a lot more behind than simply saying the league position was the reason.
And your sure that the football played with Silva is going to get us a look at the top 6/higher than 8th.

The same Lukaku who is being criticised massively now? He had his best season under Koeman, could it be that Koeman developed him?

You're just going to carry on making excuses for Silva's inevitable failure, so this going around in circles is boring.

What does that have to do with anything? Being good enough for Everton and being good enough for Manchester United are completely different things, despite what your fantasy outlook might tell you.

The very simple fact of the matter is this - Ronald Koeman was let loose with a transfer war chest of about £200m and left us in such a perilous position that we had to appoint Sam Allardyce to scrape us into the top half and now half of his squad has either been sold or farmed out on loan because no one wants to buy them. No manager on the face of the earth could had us competing with the top 6 after 4 months in the job and only a year on from Koemageddon.

i never liked Koeman but you're right, he was better than many of us give him credit for.
I didn't like him either, but we're stuck in this circle of hiring average managers. Things will only change if we throw real money at a top manager. That's what's we need to do. The time we pay our inevitable tapping up fine and then the compensation to Silva when we sack him, you're looking at £50m+ all on hiring and firing average managers. Would rather have made Conte, Blanc, etc the highest paid manager in World football to take us to the next level. That's what we were led to believe that Moshiri wanted for the club.

No manager in the World? Didn't Sam come in and we were 6th in the form table since his arrival?

Excuse after excuse. Brilliant.

Are you on some strange hallucinogenic or just seeing things you want to? I clearly said “compete with the top 6”. And no, Sam Allardyce didn’t have us competing with the top 6.

NO.

The most important thing imo at the start of the season were for us to start playingattacking exciting football again and that has been done no doubt. Results haven’t been there yet after a couple of soft reds and a glut of injuries but we’re playing like Martinez first season atm which sadly as a guy turning 30 this weekend is the best I’ve ever seen Everton play.

The second most important thing imo was to stop buying crap footballers for massive amounts of cash. So far Richarlison looks incredible, Digne looks like a great signing and Bernard could be very exciting too. Zouma is a decent stop gap and I’m looking forward to seeing what Mina and Gomes can do once they’re fit.

Results need to improve but I’m encouraged so far with how we’re playing given what Silva inherited.

His points tally had us in 6th in the games he managed. You're saying no manager in the World could do that. Sam did.

Your argument is weak. Managers have to work with what they have and play to the strengths of the team. This team clearly can't do zonal marking, yet this plank persists with it.

Why are people not allowed to have reservations about him? he's done not much if anything of note to be positive that he's the man to take us forward, blindly follow and stick with long term, plus after a worse start than last season shouldn't people be asking these questions, lots of excuses being bandied around like transition, injuries, refereeing decisions etc at the moment but the reality is the results need to improve.

No I’m not saying that, what are you going on about? Your form table is meaningless, you might as well be saying Allardyce would’ve finished 6th if he’d been given he full season. Spoiler: he wouldn’t.

You are the exact type of fan that makes many of us want to stay away from Goodison altogether. The atmosphere is poisonous because of people like you. Impatient, self-entitled brats with delusions of grandeur, expecting success spoonfed on a silver plate and more interested in being able to tell everyone you were right instead of wanting the best for the team. Don’t give the “ambition” nonsense either, if given the choice between seeing Silva sacked in November with us 18th or finishing 4th and winning a cup with him as manager, you’d 100% choose the former.

Reservations? He’s literally calling for his head after 6 games, that isn’t a “reservation”. I’m a fan that has reservations, I didn’t want him in the first place based on his previous record, but I’m fully behind him as manager of Everton until I see a valid and fair reason not to be.
