Well no it hasn’t done them harm because they’ve had settled squads full of world class players, and we have a poor, unbalanced shell of a squad thanks to the fat mess who used to manage us and his pet PE teacher. Just as I did with Koeman, I’ll make a definitive judgement on this manager when he has his own team in place and own ideas established. I wouldn’t wish that squad he inherited on anyone.
It still managed to finish 8th in the Premier League.

So I'm between the ages of 9-12 because I want a failed manager sacked after 5 games, but at the same time you're a rational adult because you don't. Yet at the same time you're saying you did the same with Sam. Bizarre.

Are Crystal Palace's board aged between the ages of 9-12 because they sacked their new manager after 4 games last season?

Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing they're vastly more successful people in the world of football business than you.

Yes.

They didn't win a game and scored abar 1 goal in 5 games.

Put into perspective...we've played 7 with 7 different starting 11. 2 sending offs. Up to 9 players injured at one point. New signings not ready to play.

The idea of sacking a manager now is like sacking a blind postman with no arms because he couldn't see house numbers or post letters.
lol

I think the Palace board were imbeciles for appointing a manager with an obvious style, and for then sacking him because shock horror, he used the same style he always had used.

Difference with Big Sam is he is a known entity and clearly against the ethos of the club. I don't see any evidence to suggest Silva is.

Whether you're proved right or wrong isn't the issue. It's the fact you decided after the first loss. It's utterly mental.
My support waned for him around the time he oversaw the team throw a two goal lead against Bournemouth away. Summed up to me that he hasn't, nor will he ever, change. Terrible game management.

I don’t give a toss, Burnley finished 7th and look at the state of their team in reality. There was about 3 points between us and 12th. Silva inherited a squad that fits in very snuggly amongst the “bottom 13”.

But Koeman inherited Martinez's squad with back-to-back 11th place finishes. He got 7th in his first season, despite losing Stones and Ashley Williams coming in.

Koeman inherited a £90m guaranteed goal machine who carried 100% of our attacking threat and papered over most of our cracks, that’s the difference. And we still finished miles off the top 6 by the way.

I think Moshiri has total faith in Brands
If Brands says Marco is doing ok but needs more players of a higher standard to succeed than I think Moshiri will give Brands the money and Silva the time to succeed

I'd agree he should be given the season bc of this.
But needs to be judged not just on waiting for better players and transplanting his system but also - fixing immediate problems, being able to get the team playing well with the players he's got, both in defence and attack, man mgt etc etc
Good managers can do both.
And you get more buy in from players if seen to.

Or do we just wait in hope that he and Brands will pull off getting in the right players and see him successfully implement his system.

How many times do we hear managers complain and justify poor results bc they are not getting the players they need for their system
Are we going to be hearing this guff from Silva in 2 to 3 yrs time?

The same Lukaku who is being criticised massively now? He had his best season under Koeman, could it be that Koeman developed him?

You're just going to carry on making excuses for Silva's inevitable failure, so this going around in circles is boring.

i never liked Koeman but you're right, he was better than many of us give him credit for.
