We're a club with the 11th most expensively assembled squad in World football and some are saying 10th is good enough.

Every club has expectations that need to be met.

Ah, but you say we're crap, let's keep with that thinking and accept it.

Call yourself a supporter of this club. Pathetic attitude to have.

Big difference with admitting we are crap and wanting us to be crap.

I want us to win as much, if not more than you. I just don't think it's realistic, or rational to expect a Sam Allardyce team to be turned into a top team full of winners in 5 or 6 league games.

For you to repeatedly call for a managers head after 5 games shows you are either between the ages of 9-12 or more likely, you had already made your mind up on him before he started.

I did that with Allardyce. I'll freely admit that. But I can't think of many others who I'd give only 5 games to before screaming for a change.

It’s even worse than that, it’s still pretty much a Ronald Koeman team. He brings up the fact we have the “11th most expensive squad in the world”, but that’s only because Ronald Koeman bought lots and lots of rubbish players. The number after the £ sign doesn’t actually make these players any better.

You could go one step further and say that we have possibly the most expensively assembled squad of crap players in world footballer.

At least we`re the champions of something lol

So I'm between the ages of 9-12 because I want a failed manager sacked after 5 games, but at the same time you're a rational adult because you don't. Yet at the same time you're saying you did the same with Sam. Bizarre.

Are Crystal Palace's board aged between the ages of 9-12 because they sacked their new manager after 4 games last season?

Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing they're vastly more successful people in the world of football business than you.

I get that Silva needs to be as accountable as any other manager for performances and results but I can't see his position under threat and nor should it be for the foreseeable future.

He and the squad need to work hard and get results, and I'm sure that's what the focus will be on.

Like it or not, I think it will be tremendously damaging for the club if circumstances dictated that Silva was under genuine pressure any time soon. We simply cannot afford another short-term appointment in my opinion. These are high stakes. Even if it means a couple of seasons of painfully slow improvement and gradual progress, we have to stick with this I feel. That's not ideal either, but it is what it is.

You can argue that it's the culmination of several years of poor decision making that has brought us to a pass where we cannot afford another short-term appointment, but that isn't Silva's fault. I simply dread to think of the fallout if we were needing to look for yet another manager any time soon. Who on earth would take us on? We would become cannon fodder for 'crisis' stories in the media and in my opinion, it would be severely damaging and could mark the beginning of a spiral that we struggle to break free from.

That doesn't mean ignoring that we have been in managed decline for years, and need radical reform and improvement at all levels, but another sacking would be the absolute last thing we need.

I really hope things pick up at least to bring some short-term stability, so we can regroup and that Brands/Silva can get on with the more difficult work of trying to pick us off the floor in many respects.

You seem to be saying we should be taking the Man City and Chelsea approach and sacking managers as soon as we string a couple of bad results together. However you fail to acknowledge that City and Chelsea waited until they had actual good teams before they could get away with that.
I didn't say we should be, I said it hasn't done them much harm.

I've seen Silva manage at: Hull, Watford and now us. He hasn't shown any signs of improvement.

He'll be sacked eventually. Just a shame we're going to have another wasted season with a manager who isn't good enough.

Well no it hasn’t done them harm because they’ve had settled squads full of world class players, and we have a poor, unbalanced shell of a squad thanks to the fat mess who used to manage us and his pet PE teacher. Just as I did with Koeman, I’ll make a definitive judgement on this manager when he has his own team in place and own ideas established. I wouldn’t wish that squad he inherited on anyone.

I think the Palace board were imbeciles for appointing a manager with an obvious style, and for then sacking him because shock horror, he used the same style he always had used.

Difference with Big Sam is he is a known entity and clearly against the ethos of the club. I don't see any evidence to suggest Silva is.

Whether you're proved right or wrong isn't the issue. It's the fact you decided after the first loss. It's utterly mental.

They didn't win a game and scored abar 1 goal in 5 games.

Put into perspective...we've played 7 with 7 different starting 11. 2 sending offs. Up to 9 players injured at one point. New signings not ready to play.

The idea of sacking a manager now is like sacking a blind postman with no arms because he couldn't see house numbers or post letters.
