New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I'm just not buying this argument that we wouldn't be able to fill a stadium as big as Tottenham's new ground. At the moment we're getting capacity crowds almost every week, despite the fact that a quarter of the seats at Goodison (according to the club) have an obstructed view. Just imagine how any Evertonians would be attracted to a state-of-the-art stadium on the docks.

West Ham's average attendance has just shot up by almost 25,000 after their move to a new stadium.

Besides, having a couple of thousand empty seats every now and then would hardly be the end of the world.

Totally agree.

So no planning application is going in this year it seems fair to say, and funding is to be sourced 'maybe from the council, but other opportunities are being explored'. And more consultations to follow with "stakeholders".

How on earth does anyone stay enthused with a drab piss-take like that?

Serious question. Where did you get that information from?

His narrative. The one that has been saying throughout that this won’t happen, that Moshiri is a carpet bagger and that he’s somehow only throwing millions at this as some form of con trick, to wilfully deceive Evertonians, for some reason best known to Dave K.

He took his position of negativity early on this one (as he does with virtually every EFC related story) so that he could spend a long while decrying it, and he’s balls deep now, so if it actually happens it’ll make him look a chump. So he has to continue to be against the idea that this could happen, as Dave K’s internet ego is way more important than the long term future of EFC.

I’m not one for blind faith, but equally I really don’t see the point in trying to take a position of extreme negativity on literally every piece of EFC related news. It must make for a really ‘glass half empty’ mindset and existence. I always thought football was ultimately about enjoyment and the hope and dreams it brings with the it along the way. It doesn’t seem to bring Dave one iota of joy, unless he’s being proved right about something.

His stance has changed from it’ll never happen to itl will be Small and Bog standard if it does happen

"The planning application will be submitted at the earliest opportunity and will be complete and thorough. It will be a full planning application and, therefore, we need to make sure that everything in it is absolutely correct. This, too, is a complex process. We’re reliant on third-parties and a lot of the work simply can’t be rushed."

Does that sound to you like it'll be done in the next three and half months?

Laughing at that. You did exactly that when Martinez was first hired...in fact, you did it before he was installed as manager.

Physician heal thyself.

they hardly give us anything positive to go on. just BS on top of more BS, with some more dragged out BS

weve had the meeting at the dock where everyone was hugging each other all smiles, as if we were about to strat the site strip the next week

and we had tit bits at the AGM which promised us some more news within a couple months - never happened

and weve had dan meis workshops, which again promised some much more detailed plans with in 'weeks' - months later and nothing

with Moshiri being linked to some of the Worlds most wealthiest men, who are well versed in these financing situations, you wouldn't expect the funding to drag out for almost 3 years, with nothing concrete in place as yet. its quite baffling really

We should get down to B&Q and buy 1 of those 600m flatpack stadiums they keep on the shelf innit Frank.

Something as big as this should defo be rushed.

No chance. Kenwright said on Talk Sport that the finance had been sorted didn't he? Now Colin Chong says we have several alternatives. Planning was supposed to go it at end of 2017, now we are looking at 2019 at the earliest. As much as I want it to happen, I've still got no confidence that it will.
