Computer games.

Lol at the game being completely ruined because of some minor things you get with a more expensive version.

Who cares, just buy the normal version. Its only a mission, some cosmetic bs and the ability to rank up faster that you miss out on and most of it’s in single player as well ! If some weirdos want to spend more money on some minor stuff like that then who cares, let them... it will make zero difference to my experience.

Gamers are such cryasses/drama queens
Such a lack of empathy I don’t even know where to begin. I’m not going to spend money on this extra garbage, but it’s a horrible practice and takes advantage of gaming addiction. At least you have the common sense not to feed that machine, but young children and even adults will and it’s a slippery slope. Other games follow suit, and the quality goes down drastically because they can get away with it. It’s the reason why decent franchises are so scarce nowadays.

Ive genuinely never played a game where im constantly pestered to buy DLC let alone game bonuses, literally never... worst I can remember is some adverts for them during loading screens. The horror...

Im sure its everywhere in free to play games but that's fair enough imo.

Correct me if im wrong but they tried it with one game and got terrible feedback and haven't done it since, lots of studios then came out and said they'd never go down this route.

Im not buying into the idea that in the near future every game will require you to pay them extra money to complete the final level... for proper sized DLC maybe, but for just the final mission at the very end of a game ? You've got no chance of convincing me that will ever be the standard, customer backlash would be huge and as mentioned earlier numerous studios have already said they would never go down this route.
Haha, that is a really, really naive attitude to take.

You cannot honestly sit back and believe that those companies, if they think they could get away with it, would not release games in a way to maximise their profit. They absolutely would.

Look at EA and the Battlefront 2 debacle. They wound it back after the public outcry, then quietly reintroduced the very thing they had just rolled back. Have you played Deus Ex Mankind Divided? Want to upgrade your character in the single player game? Buy 'praxxis' points for real money! Sorted!

I can continue to hope that the likes of CDPR will keep showing the industry how to do it, but my hopes for EA, Activision, Ubisoft and 2K et al following suit are very small.

lol

Ill bet you my house that having to unlock the very final level via money won’t become the standard in video gaming. The examples you have given such as battlefront etc are nowhere near as extreme as having to pay a fee to play the final story based level of a game either. It’s ridiculous to even try and claim they are the same and that because one thing happens the absolute worst case scenario is also certain to happen.

It wasn't an example of segmenting games. It was an example of game companies doing stuff purely for money. Lets see what we can get away with. The idea is to normalize it so we, as consumers, accept it as the norm.

Your attitude feeds right into that.

I don’t deny they will try and see what they can get away with, the point is they won’t get away with what you’re suggesting. They are barely getting away with loot boxes which is miles off having to pay an extra fee to complete the last level of a story based video game.

That is the whole point. Don't let them get away with it! Which is why loot boxes are on course (still a long way to go) to being out.

And if we let them, then they damn well will segment the game to maximize profits (I feel like I should point out that I have no problem with them making money. But don't take the mick)

Love the game! I'm no pro at all, but if you ask I'll try to answer as well as I can!

Yeah been enjoying it on the Switch. Cracking game to have handheld. Just could use more guidance in what to concentrate on.

Ive only a couple of characters up to Level 3 and was thinking to maybe 6 or so main characters and build em up and either swap in and out all the rest or build em more slowly.

I get the feeling theres important steps I should be concentrating on first but dont know what to prioritise. I currently have the sept upgraded quite high and started to upgrade the bar. I spend on weapon upgrade for select characters....but I dont really touch other aspects like quirk holds/removals or camping upgrades.

Id like to build up a base of gold but i never get higher than 20k before i have to spend on stress reduction

Yeah I usually start doing veteran (lvl3) quests as late as I can. I usually prioritize upgrading the blacksmith, the guild(?) and the wagon (to grant you a bigger roster) but thats up to your personal preference I believe. I also remove negative quirks between every dungeon - especially annoying ones like Kleptomaniac, Curious and other quirks that has your characters touch curios when they feel like it.

A big tip imo is to take your time to test out the different skills every class has. I see streamers etc who never buy new skills on the highwayman but just keeps going with the original four skills. They have no idea how powerful he can be with a good skill "line-up".

If you want money I recommend bringing an Antiquarian to your quests and take the loot curios with her. You'll consistently get 500 or more bonus gold for each curio with her and you can stack more valuables in your inventory. Even torch stands gives her gold. She's one of my favorite characters as I'm a big lootwhore myself. Bring her to a medium dungeon and loot away! She works very well alongside riposte heroes if she has the Protect me skill equipped. It's easy to forget to use her to open the curios, so try to remember!
