Computer games.

Started up "X-COM 2" the other night (PS4). Really liked the first game on PS3, the second is great as well but maaaaan it's tough. Some ruthless enemy AI and tough decision-making to make.

Also been hammering the remastered FFX - beautifully put together, still some nuisance elements to it (the Blitzball!) but a terrific game even at nearly two decades old. Looking forwards to the remake of VII, that should be MEGA.

Never played FFVII Crisis Core - its was PSP only I believe. Is it any good?

Populous - there's a great title that seems sadly neglected now. I always liked that series. Due for a new entry or remake I reckon.

Had totally forgotten about Populous. Had it on the MD

been playing Pocket City on my tablet which is a decent Sim City clone. Had a sudden urge to play a city sim game. Would def check out an updated Populous

Yeah the "Gregorian" sound effects when your followers "Leveled up" were brilliant ha ha ha ha... also sending in the knight to massacre the heathen non-believers and burn their settlements was boss

Anybody playing or played Darkest Dungeon?

Never really played this sort of game but Im glad I bought it, but could do with some pointers!
Played the heck out of it. Did post about it a while ago.

Off the top of my head I'd recommend upgrading the tavern thing where you recruit new members each week as quickly as possible to at least be offered 4. That way if you lose your team you can always recruit a full new squad.

Don't get attached toto characters. The game will ruin you, and them.

Use the antiquarians to collect mass amounts of trinkets to sell and gold by farming lower level dungeons, retire them and recruit new ones to keep doing the lower levels.

The shop that sells trinkets is vastly over priced and it's better off spending your money on upgrades for your characters etc, collect valuable trinkets via beating dungeons.

Stuns are excellent. Plague doctor was my favourite for this, have him in the back 2 positions and let those stuns fly.

Always take a couple of shovels etc, you get too much insanity for interactions done improperly - however it's best to experiment with the different starting items yourself to learn how they react with objects. Ie. Bandages/holy water etc on certain things will help interactions, and you'll learn from any mistakes.

I'd come up with more but I have to dart to work.

Hope some of this can help you friend.

Oh, the boss is always the furthest part of the dungeon away in terms of movement blocks!! Helps if you just want to get through it quick and avoid pointless rooms.

Yeah I usually start doing veteran (lvl3) quests as late as I can. I usually prioritize upgrading the blacksmith, the guild(?) and the wagon (to grant you a bigger roster) but thats up to your personal preference I believe. I also remove negative quirks between every dungeon - especially annoying ones like Kleptomaniac, Curious and other quirks that has your characters touch curios when they feel like it.

A big tip imo is to take your time to test out the different skills every class has. I see streamers etc who never buy new skills on the highwayman but just keeps going with the original four skills. They have no idea how powerful he can be with a good skill "line-up".

If you want money I recommend bringing an Antiquarian to your quests and take the loot curios with her. You'll consistently get 500 or more bonus gold for each curio with her and you can stack more valuables in your inventory. Even torch stands gives her gold. She's one of my favorite characters as I'm a big lootwhore myself. Bring her to a medium dungeon and loot away! She works very well alongside riposte heroes if she has the Protect me skill equipped. It's easy to forget to use her to open the curios, so try to remember!

Really appreciate this. Will probably pick it up again in next couple days.

The antiquarian tip is probably what will help me jump on a level or two. Just lately learning the value of the stuns as i hit lvl 3 dungeons. Very surprised to be hooked on a game like this.....will be enjoying this until they get around to releasing Wargroove for my Advance Wars needs

Cheers guys

Picked this up for XB1 today and put a few hours in.

Seems really good so far.
Love the art style, the music is excellent and it has a real intense risk v reward system.

Also fairly accessible for new players. You normally have to sink several hours into a wiki to navigate the menus in this type of game (I'm looking at you Divinity: Original Sin), but this is fairly intuitive.

Impressed so far!

I'm a sucker for hand drawn artwork like this within games... Don't Starve nails it too.

Yeah there's lots of small details to pick up on in Darkest Dungeon and a lot of them are nice to work out yourself as you keep trying and either succeeding/failing.

Slay The Spire is quite brilliant by the way - highly recommend if you like card games or turn based strategy in general.

It's like Hearthstone but single player and won't bankrupt you to play.
