I've been saying this for a while, he's [Poor language removed].
Heitinga and Jagielka, without excuse.
.As a sidenote though, Jags was ace today. He seems really buoyed by the whole England thing.
TBH I think it's more to do with being comfortable with his knee again...at least more than he's been since he's been back.
Let me say this.
When a defensive player has a poor match, it's usually accompanied by the opposition taking advantage with goals and therefore highlighted a bit more.
Yeah, Distin had a bad match but had we held it to 1-1, we may not be saying as much. I still wanted to see Jags/Heitinga in back which is inarguably our best CB pairing but I wouldn't dismiss Distin at all. He's have quite a few matches for us where he's been a rock in the back.
Heitinga was crap today as well.
One bad game, does not a bad player make, and so far this season -- pre-season included -- that was Distin's only bad game. You can't live off past mistakes, you live in the present, and fair dos today he was badly gash. But let's see what he's like next week, before we write him off. Because I know, if it had been Jagielka, people would be brushing it off and giving him another chance.
As a sidenote though, Jags was ace today. He seems really buoyed by the whole England thing.
Really lid? I just see him at fault for most of our goals, on top of being largely dodgy last season too.
Heitinga was our best centre half last season, and Jagielka is our best centre half at the club. It just makes sense to put them together, Distin deserves to be dropped for that performance alone.
