Summer 2018 Transfer Window

Around a week to go before we have genuine reason to worry.

I get the feeling we will do our incoming over a short space of time if we know who we are signing, and as the press still have no idea who that is, it can only bode well.

Can't help but think it's a missed opportunity though, if we had got players in early and spent our time selling afterwards then everyone would be bedded into a new way of playing rather than implementing it with the existing swuad and then dropping a few of them for new players.

It would be nice to see a new squad driven by Davies holgate Kenny vlasic sandro lookman Dowell begname and possibly lewen with a few new young faces also.

I think you are right, whoever comes in now will probably be on the periphery of the squad, the majority of the starting 11 will come from the existing squad now. Overall I can only see us signing 3 players, with maybe some loans on deadline day, if we manage to move some more players out. Ideally we need to push some of the unwanted players out the door this week, but it means taking a hit on the transfer fee's for players like Bolasie.

I agree it would be nice to see some of the younger players given a go, but they have to deserve their place in the side. The manager will want to start strongly, as we have seen many times in the premier league, if you dont start well, you dont last long. Hopefully some of those players you mentioned have a great pre season and are in the starting line up for the opener against Wolves

The Silva interview was the first I have heard from him. His English is not as good as I had hoped. His Portuguese colleagues may be similar. The word "important" was used more times in 5 minutes than "phenominal" was used by Martinez.. It was partly the fault of the interviewer whose questions were really poorly thought up.

Unless you know how to say important in Portuguese, then he's already better than you at foreign languages.

Nah lad be careful going there
They are proper hard down south
Remember those young lads that posted a picture of themselves preparing for battle in a back lane
Proper old school tough they were
Pre-battle selfie, scares the life out any normal man.
However my wife and I did a little snoop around Primark last Christmas to deck the kids bedrooms out in seasonal tat. If I can survive that I'll survive anything!

The only good games he has had in his career have been against us and RS, I never wanted him and don’t get all the fuss about zaha either, he is bolasie 2.0 mark my words

I agree re ‘bolo’

I think Zaha is much better. Heard a stat that palace lost every game he was out injured for last season and he was pretty influential in keeping them up (as was the big midfielder that scored all the penos and got me points in fantasy football). However if he was playing for a similar team in any other league and wasn’t English he’d be worth a fraction of the price and there’d be a lot less interest in him.

Great. That means when we buy some dullard and he turns out to be totally useless we'll have the ready-made excuse that he missed pre-season training. Seems we are the only club who, when a player misses pre-season, he goes onto have the worst season in memory. People were still using that excuse for McGeady 9 months after he arrived

I’m detecting some stress.....

With the deadline fast approaching (three weeks on Friday) can someone please tell me when the official fume starts.

I wanna get well stocked up on bleach, tramadol and spice.

Thanks in advance, BB.

I listened to him being described as Palaces lynchpin before we signed him and ‘unplayable on his day’ when we signed him and pre injury. I don’t recall him being either.

I think he’ll go down as one of the worst pieces of business we’ve ever done.

Tbf before his injury he had scored 1 and had 4 assists (would of had a few more if Barkley could header a ball) in 13 games. There alright stats and if had carried on that form all season he would of had a successful season.

But the injury has ruined him for me and he does need to go. I do think it's a shame though because if it wasn't for his injury I think he could of been a good player for us.

Kone has to be up there for worst ever everton transfer.
