I honestly don't know what Klaassen has showed to suggest he's worth another chance. Obviously if Silva rates him then great, but to suggest that he just 'deserves' another chance seems weird to me, seeing as he contributed absolutely nothing whatsoever over the course of an entire season.

Sandro didn't do anything either, but at least he's a little bit younger and had more of a cultural change to contend with.

It's more what he showed at Ajax.

He played 12 games total for us last year I think (give or take) - half of that sub appearances. Just think it's worth seeing if he slots into a system (which Koeman or Sam didn't have).

Klaassen is only just 25. He's not exactly old. If he doesn't cut it in pre-season, by all means sell him, but we've got others to shift on first imo

I hope i'm wrong, but I just haven't seen a single thing from him, whether in a couple of games for Ajax, pre-season with us, or his few competitive appearances, to suggest he's got anything to offer a PL team.

I didn't say he was old, just that he doesn't have the excuse of being a young lad away from home who doesn't speak the language. We've moved on players after 1 season who have done an awful lot more than Klaassen did. At least Simon Davies scored.

I personally think Sandro and Klaassen will get a chance to prove themselves this season. Don't buy that we're selling after a season unless the players are asking to leave.

Could say that about Harry kane at spurs though.

Because arguably he didn't show anything in his loans that merited further chances at spurs.
Loan. Singular. He showed plenty in his loans at orient and milwall to suggest he was very good, but then he didn’t get many chances at Norwich. I’m not sure that the comparison of a 19 year old trying top flight football for the first time and a 25 year old international who you’ve paid £25m for is a good one personally. Also just to reiterate, i’m Not saying silva shouldn’t give him a chance if he rates him, only that I don’t see any reason at all why an Everton fan would think he ‘deserves’ another season of being paid £100k a week after last years efforts.

What is being said here?

Of all Steve Walsh's cock-ups (of which there are many) I don't blame him for the Sandro transfer, even when you factor his wages into account which are allegedly quite high.

£5m for a 21 year old ex Barca youth product who'd just scored 16 goals for a side who were terrible (I think they went down this year) was a heck of a deal imo.

Sometimes transfers just don't work out. The major worry moving forwards I think is why he continued to struggle in Seville.
I would say his confidence was shattered ,plus a lack of match fitness was the reasons he failed at Sevilla

I mean the blokes failed at more clubs than he’s succeeded at, but don’t let that put you off the fact that he’s clearly a world class player just waiting to break out.
