This is getting a bit strange now...Marcel and Marco specifically called him an Everton legend.

Well they can't say, "one careful owner" when hawking him around can they?Marcel and Marco specifically called him an Everton legend.
People are strange, when you`re a stranger Neil. This is getting a bit strange now...
Would challenge anyone to show me a greater Evertonian than him not named Bill Kenwright since he scored his first goal against Arsenal as a 16 year old.
Not possible.
He absolutely did not create the most chances. By what measure? Assists? Key passes? None of those metrics and gave the ball away a ton.He also created the most chances.
Don't worry though, we can share his goals and chances created around the rest of the team like we did with Rom last season.

That team was maybe the worst passing team I’ve seen at Everton in a long time. We need guys that can pass. Rooney does not take care of the ball. I have no problem if he stays, but he’s only a useful player that can occasionally create chances pushed farther up the pitch and should not be starting.

I know that you mention since he scored his first goal, but for me Rooney simply isn't a great Evertonian or legend at this club.

Look at the stats, he created the most chances.
I can't believe you let the 'where' slip there!
However, it's my humble opinion (and that's all it is) that I feel that a significant part of why this occurs is due to PR or toeing the party line. The key bit was 'since his first goal against Arsenal', otherwise I'd have included even more obvious ones like Southall.
Much better placed individuals than us call Rooney a legend, and rightly so.
