RANGERS

What on earth are they thinking appointing SG?
He's only a youth coach at the moment and would probably be more use to Rangers as a player if anything.
It smacks of trying to impress the faithful with a big name.
Pardew (or Big Sam) would be far better in all honesty. Too pricey I suppose.

Gerrard on BT sports: "I'm interested and still talking to them".

Please make it happen.

Part of me, in a generous mood, thinks it takes some stones taking that as your first job.

But the narrative seeping out this evening is that LFC see the job as a finishing school for him, and for some of their fringe players.

Lob in his obvious lack of experience, a presumed lack of knowledge of Scottish football, add the 4 together, and the Rangers faithful wont treat an ex England Captain, and reportedly, not "one of them", warmly if it doesnt work out.

Got to say i'm really disappointed by the thinly veiled sectarianism in this thread.
If you dislike rangers fair enough but why bring religion into it?
I'm a protestant and support both everton and rangers (in passing) because of my dad.
I've been to ibrox and watched li tie score his only ever goal for us.
There's enough crap going on without encouraging sectarian divide amongst fans, thankfully it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
Can honestly say I don't give a crap what god/s if any any the fan sitting next to me believes in.

I really hope he takes the job,not because of any particular hatred of Rangers,Celtic annoy me as much, but if he does a reasonable job and Klopp fails to produce trophies, you just know the rs hordes will be screaming for slippy to take over,if he fails we laugh at him and Rangers carry on struggling win/win as far as I can see
