The massive difference between Tosun and Lukaku is that Tosun can't/won't create chances for himself. He absolutely relies on service into the penalty area. He can't run at and bulldoze defenders like Lukaku does/did. It's all about what is laid on for him. He's shown that he can finish really well when people serve it up for him. But that happens incredibly rarely in this Allardyce team. If we can get quality service to him regularly then he'll be good for 10-15 goals a season but not much more IMHO.

I think the biggest take away this season for me is just how good Lukaku was. He made a lot of average players look much better than they probably were.

When there's nothing on he takes it down the wing and tries to get past players .
Tosun doesent. His not far off being an Andy Carroll, having said that I've seen Carroll shoot from outside the box, and his probably stronger in the air then tosun aswell.

Oh mate, im not sticking up for Tosun here, i think on the little i have seen him (10-15 games for us), he is a very limited footballer, that if he dosent get the goals he dosent offer much else.
I understand the "he dosent get the service" argument but his touch his poor, he dosent make the runs to pull away defenders and he dosent win free kicks.

Even Niasse has the nuisance factor and Calvert Lewin is actually very good in the air and with his back to goal, as well as pulling defenders away

32 year old vardy to add to our already very old squad is not the answer though mate

Good point that Tosun doesn’t even provide the nuisance factor.

We cannot simply continue to carry him as a 1 in 5 or 6 goal scorer when he offers so little else

The other option is playing walcott behind tosun. But even then tosun would have to be an absolute snide and be a nightmare for keepers on corners, use his elbow fellaini style and studs down the back of people's legs like suarez did on distin.

If tosun became a diego Costa mark 2, and chipped in with 20 goals a season, i could live with that.

He looks like a Turkish Glenn Murray . I think he'll come good, in fact he isn't doing too bad, the whole pitch was awful last night not just him, hes scored a few, still getting used to the premier league. Pace would be nice but Gary Lineker was very slow and he did ok. Siggi being injured has probably hampered his chances as all he seems to be getting is high balls pumped into the box that he would do well to skim off his head when he jumps.
If he actually had the ball at is feet within 12 yards a few times a game he would score a hatful

The lad looks like a very clever baller.
He's never going to be a dominant target man or an on the shoulder pace merchant.
What he is, is a finisher with clever link up play. He's shown enough for me to suggest with more quality around him he'll score and assist a decent amount.
Were not in a position to buy a lukaku quality goalscorer. What we can do is improve the amount of goals our attacking unit deliver.
Between tosun, niasse, Walcott, bolasie, gylfi, and Rooney we should be looking at 60 goals. That's ten each on average.

He does, I hadn't noticed that before, but he does!

I feel sorry for him. I think he actually has a very good first touch when the ball is played in to him on the floor. I think his first touch is pretty poor when the ball is hoofed up to him or he has to stretch for it. Unfortunately, the majority of the time he is played the ball in an awkward position so can give it away quite often.

The style we play and the setup of the team does him no favours. I don't see things working out for him if we persist with this style and manager which is a shame because I think there is a very good player in there who would do well under a better playing style and where chances are created regularly for him.
