No striker has received much service this season. There haven't been a barrowload of chances. Even Siggy's much vaunted delivery has largely been a damp squib.

Think Cenk is a good player with good technique and decent in the air. One thing he hasn't got is pace, can our next striker we buy have pace, technique and work rate. Hope our next DOF can find these, Liverpool got their three strikers for under £100 million, they all sickeningly have these attributes.

Anyone saying they've seen anything other is deluding themselves. Even with the best service in the world he isn't going to be the player that takes us into the top 6.

Not even bothered about pace particularly. Just someone with a presence that can ruffle opposition defenders. If you're a centre half against Tosun you don't go into the game fearing anything about him.

I agree, he could be at any club from 7th to bottom and would look the same in all those teams. He’s no better than Slimani, Barnes, Rondon, Wood Etc.
He is what £20-25m will get you nowadays, there are odd the exception.

I think this is the point - if your not going to score goals then you could at least make a nuisance of yourself for the defenders.

We sell a striker for around £100 miiliom and replace with £28 million. There is going to some catching up so he is punt, hopefully it comes to fruition after full premier league pre season etc. Some good flashes of a decent player!
Think he is a decent player, he is new to the league, country and being asked to play up front for a team on his own ,also within a team that lacks confidence , that regularly gets only one or two shots on target per game, and a midfielded that really didn't offer much attacking threat.
I think when he settles down and more importantly the team has has well , he will prove a decent player, it's not like he is missing sitters every game or going into his shell , he is trying for the team and once he gets a bit of confidence about him I think he will come good.

Perhaps he'll shine in a non-Allardyce Everton, under a progressive manager, with better creators behind him.

Who in recent times have our fans written off that has proved to be any good? We've got a squad full of players who need better players around them or time to bed in. It's just excuses for them not performing very well.
Tosun just isn't the striker to take us into the top 6. As part of a squad fair enough. But we soon realised we couldn't rely on Jelavic and I get the feeling it'll be the same here.

Well many didn't want theo and have deemed Baines finished about 10 times. Rom was always deemed fat and lazy, Niasse was worst player ever then our saviour, I even remember COleman being finished after a couple of games. Naismith was amazing then sh1te, same with Valencia,eto'o,Delo, the point is, we turn on players one game and then big them up the next. Judging Cenk on this team that has one shot per game and the lowest ratio in the entire prem is utter madness and so very Everton
