We're learning a harsh lesson in how difficult it is to replace a genuinely top class striker. This will probably become a long-term issue unless we plough money into it in the short-term and are shrewd in our recruitment.

This fella tries his best, but doesn't seem to have the sixth sense of a top striker when it comes to being in the right place at the right time. He had chances to find space in the area last night but was rarely there, save for that sliced effort in the first half. He should be getting goals at home, even under this manager.

There's no doubt the service has been poor, mind.

We have seen what he can be like when a chance comes his way, hasn't had many of those lately. Clearly not a striker who will be able to create his own stuff so needs the players around him to do it, they haven't been of late. Not his fault, he is what he is, looks a great finisher if you create some chances which we don't.

He’s done well. Could have scored two more without a problem, had he not argued with the reff. I dont think he’s a 25goals a season striker, but I wouldnt be surprised if he gets 15 next season.

How long did it take you to figure that one out.
His lack of pace is unforgivable, haven't got the luxury for the midfield to do the legwork for EVERY single goal he scores.

Jaime vardy for next season please.

Our problem is we play 4-5-1 and not 4-3-3 with Bolasie and Walcott right up alongside him. We're so predictable we just pass it sideways and sideways until we get one winger with two defenders marking them on the touchline.
We'll never create anything if we think this is the way to go.

Not really, two disgraceful misses in the last 2 games.

needs more creativity around him and a managerr who doesnt user stone age tactics. I like him and he will get double figures next season if we can get some quality in the side (aka anyone for bolasie)

An easy header in the derby, and a sliced effort that he should of got at least both on target are both very good chances.

For arguments sake though, thats only 2 chances in 3 games so you could forgive a player for maybe snatching at them a little.

But if Calvert Lewin had missed them 2 opportunity's we would of been all over him, citing his goal record etc.

Personally, i dont rate him, he looks a little heavy, and not on the front foot, but we wont know suppose unless we decide to give him better service then lumps into the box

We badly badly miss Ross

Ah yes, lets bring in another 30-something. Good choice!

Well.i was going to say Kane, but there's a chance he won't come so I went for the more realistic option.
Yes vardy is 31, but he is still capable of scoring goals, and would an ideal short term stop gap. Also has pace and can actually run at defenders and.score goals from inside and outside the box.

Sounds a lot like what prople were saying about Rooney last season, doesnt it?

Wont judge him until we get proper manager in and he has full pre season with better players around him. Usual reaction from our fans after a few games

He never "runs" at defenders!
He stays on the last man and looks for that ball over the top, or a through ball.

I can only think of Davies to Niasse v Bournemouth when we have scored with a through ball this season

When there's nothing on he takes it down the wing and tries to get past players .
Tosun doesent. His not far off being an Andy Carroll, having said that I've seen Carroll shoot from outside the box, and his probably stronger in the air then tosun aswell.
