You have absolutely no evidence that Klaassen is awful. He had a difficult time settling into a team where Rooney, he and Siggy were all trying to play the same role. He hasn't played since the Cyprus game in early December, not even for the U23s. Oh, apart from the 5 min cameo against Brighton when he was given a warm reception by both the fans and the players.

No this has Allardyce's spitefulness written all over it.

Koeman used to yank him off the pitch at half time.
Unsworth dropped him completely.
Big Sam continued it.

He's a lost cause. Of course fans will give him a warm reception because he's a likeable chap who's kept his head down. We like that.

Tom looked short of confidence today and has struggled recently. I reckon he needs a rest now after what has been a tough season for him. Perhaps we should remind ourselves he’s still a teenager.

Maybe Klaassen should be given an opportunity now.
