I thought SA had a chance with Everton fans, I also agree with you that it's very difficult to 2nd guess Moshiri particularly in a World Cup Summer.

I'd hoped he'd drop the "Big Sam" act though. Show a bit of humility, recognise he's at the biggest club he's been at, that has a tradition and a level of expectation and knowledge amongst the fan base.

We're not an unreasonable bunch. However we are very aware when we are being played.

His comments about Lookman, and more importantly yesterday were appalling. Trying to shift the blame onto the fans, for our treatment of Schneiderlin as causing the defeat is awful. He was always a manager who tried to blame everyone but himself, and he has continued along that way here. There's nobody left to blame, he's had money, a good squad etc so he turns on supporters.

This ought to be enough to seal his fate. I have little faith on Moshiri anymore though. Every week Allardyce remains here though, defending players who don't put effort in on the basis of how much they are paid/cost and turning the performances on fans, any credibility Moshiri has left will be eroded away.

Honest to god, I'd have Martinez back over this idiot. He never tried to blame fans for his ineptitude.

..I don’t disagree. The Arsenal game was pivotal for me because it was a game he clearly surrendered. We can’t have a situation like that, we need to try and be competitive in every game.

Mate, bit of a leading question here because I think I know the answer, but where did you hear that from?

Is it this one?

Allardyce: “I think the team selection was compromised today by certain players not being flavour of the month with the fans. As a result Watford took control of the midfield. I won’t say more than that.”

Add to that, the fact this was supposed to be his one big chance, to prove to the footballing world that he wasn`t the hoofball dinosaur that has become his reputation.

He hasn`t done a very good job in ridding himself of that reputation either.

I`ve no doubt that when he`s turfed from here, that he`ll come out of retirement again to "save " another club around Christmas time this year and the whole rotten process will start again.

As I posted earlier in this thread, personally I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he could offer and if he could rebuild his reputation after the England debacle it would be a win win. Big squad, decent players, adding this “great man-manger” could have been the answer after RK. But... No he reverts to type, plays for a 0-0, week in and out, defensively minded teams, home or away, despite the opposition and not even have a plan B. You can’t blame him for the squad their attitude was jarg since he joined but who has he improved? Who has he man-managed? All I can see is players he has isolated or sent on-loan and the rest seem to be strolling thru till summer. Give him his pay-off, let him think he’s the great saviour that he believes he is and jog him on. (Not until Fonseca has put pen to paper tho)

So even an idiot like me can see that if you go into the game looking for a 0-0 (which i hate btw) then you need to have a plan B for what happens if the opposition score in the first 20 mins - how will you reset the team/tactics to ensure you can score a goal, above all else while not conceding another. And then plan C for when the opposition score in the last 20 - here you can be more adventurous because losing 1-0 or 2-0 hardly matters in a game where points are prizes. The key to getting points if you have a 0-0 approach is the bench selection and the what if plans. His only plans assume the game is 0-0 and he needs to keep it that way. Otherwise our bench would have Lookman, Niasse and Vlassic everytime

..I don’t disagree. The Arsenal game was pivotal for me because it was a game he clearly surrendered. We can’t have a situation like that, we need to try and be competitive in every game.

Yes I think that game was as a bit of a turning point. In all honesty it's not the results for me, we can get hammered at Arsenal, it happens. What annoys me though is him trying to take me and fans for idiots and tell us it's acceptable, and when people disagree with his interpretation he goes on the offensive. Win lose or draw, don't try to pull the wool over our eyes.

If he'd have turned around and said that the rot was deeper than he imagined, and that the performance was disappointing and we know players need to do better thats fair enough. As I said though, trying to hold out for a draw at Watford and failing to do so, to then comment o the fans is a big no for me.

He has this unedifying persistent capability to remain aloof and arrogant - every win is down to him and every loss down to the players. Now that ain’t a recipe for future success is it.

Most successful sports team I know have teamwork and togetherness and mutual respect between the players & the coaching staff. All I can see at Everton is divisions on and off the pitch. On the playing side i suspect many new comers have arrived on contracts of a value viewed enviously by the longer term players, we haven’t created a style of play that brings partnerships on the pitch and seen three different managers.

Sam hasn’t tried to unite what he had, he’s simply sat back and taken any positive as down to him. Forget the negatives, it’s the players fault. His takes comfort from his pals in the media who reckon he’s done a good job; as ever it’s the fans who have seen through him quicker than the others. Once it turns, it turns quickly and I can’t see how he stays beyond the end of the season. I’ve said before, the World Cup may bring a vacancy of some unfortunate country that’ll see him move on because I don’t think he’ll show the humility to suggest he simply isn’t good enough. Poor showings in the remaining home games are the only things likely to change perception in the press that’s he’s actually not very good.

Wins against:

Huddersfield
Crystal Palace
Newcastle
Leicester
Swansea

..... I think this might actually be including the West Ham win, I dunno, what's the other win here?

People crying about the 4-1 down at Southampton. We got pumped far harder at Arsenal and Spurs and even managed to get two points from two fixtures with West Brom.

'Oh he's tightened the defence'. Concede more than we score.

It seems to pass people by that he spent nearly £50m in January.
And signed a player on loan! Absolutely amazes me that there was anyone prepared to give him next season, even before he started, he’s nothing more than an average manager with a world class ego!

Spot on that mate. It feels everything with him is part of the Big Sam campaign to manipulate evidence to build a picture, that will almost inevitably a hard done too story at some point in the future.Moyes did it a bit, but this fella is shameless.

It's really odd, as had he just got on with his job, kept a degree of humility and honesty the fans were taking to him. We are a welcoming bunch. He had a real chance here to achieve something, but would can't help himself.
