Would you be happier to see Everton come 4th this season, and therefore qualify for next year's Champions League, or would you rather we won the F.A Cup and had to settle for a mid table finish?

Personally, I'd go for the latter (y)

Yeah, **** the topfour-thing. I'm saying we need third place to avoid that silly playoff-game. Plus, a bronze medal is fun. Wouldn't mind calming the hunger of the fans by winning something like the League Cup, though. Also, [Poor language removed] getting relegated is almost just as good as any trophy. Or just a treble. Treble would be nice. Complete with the charity shield next season, just to add to the dominating glory.

Top four. We need to show our best players that we can compete with the best week in, week out, not just a few flukey results in matches the other top teams may not even care about. Portsmouth won the FA Cup few years ago. How are they doing? Also look at Leicester when O'Neil was there. To challenge for the title we need sustained growth and the possilbility of top level European football. 4th gives us that, winning the FA Cup doesn't.

4th spot, the revenue from it would help us immensly. The season after we'd have a better squad, bigger names would want to come. Ofcourse teams are remembered for their success. But how about 4th spot and the FA Cup :P. Its certainly possible

A winning mentality is catching for me. If we're doing well in 1 or both of the cups, we are the type of team that can thrive on that confidence and transfer it to the league as well (resources permitting).

If we're good enough to win a cup, then I would be massively disappointed if we then finished in the same or lower position in the league as last season-

Winning a cup is progress absolutely- but we are without doubt a better squad again than the 2008/09- still need a lot of things to go our way if its going to be as high as Top 4 as I feel we are going to have to top 75 points to finish there with the rival strength of the other challengers.

Top 6 and a cup for me but will that be enough to keep our better players happy?

I would be happy with either fourth or a trophy, I think fourth is more important because our top players will be given the chance to play in the biggest competition in the world, with everton, they would not even consider leaving then, a trophy would be brillaint as well though and that still might be enough to convince players to stay with us to fulfill their ambitions

winning the FA cup is better than finishing 2nd. f*** europe and its phony mini leagues

well we didn't come out of it in a way that benefited for us financially last time, throw in the fact that a couple of signings would be demanded to boost the squad and you then need to go all the way to the semi's to not be worse off.

Getting in 4th place would allow us to keep Arteta, Pienaar, etc. If we don't get a CL spot, we may lose our best players and finish even lower the next season. It's an obvious choice imo.
