So basically he should give the minority (the left) what they want and drop what he got elected on? Regardless of what you think about a wall, I think it's kind of a bizarre contention.
Trump has come to the table with a very generous (in the sense that it plays to a Democrat objective) offer on DACA. What's the left compromising on?
They offered $1.6 billion for 10 years to fund his stupid wall.

So what, 9% of what was requested, and which Schumer has subsequently torpedoed? Trump appears pretty serious about DACA. The Democrats do not appear serious in any way about border security, wall or otherwise.
$16 billion is hardly 9%. $1.6 x 10 years.

A deal for DACA recipients is wanted by both sides. A massive majority of Americans favour it, including ~65% of those who identify themselves as republicans. Trump himself has said repeatedly over the last 6 months that he wants a deal on it. Paul Ryan has said they should be protected. Mitch McConnell has said the same.
EVERYONE is supposedly on the same page. A DACA only bill would pass both houses with huge bipartisan majorities. There was ALSO money in the bill for increased border security. Nothing about the deal prevented Trump from going after the wall in the future.
And yet the right still want to use these people's futures as a hostage to get their partisan, divisive agenda.
So one must ask, playing with politics with people who they claim to care about, or are they just lying through their teeth about caring about them in the first place?
Link me to any 16 billion dollar wall funding commitment made by Democrats, please. The 1.6 passed by the house is all I've seen definitively. The 25b package Schumer allegedly offered included funding for the wall, which has now rescinded, but I haven't seen anything to even confirm that 25b other than Cornyn's comments. Of course, that's moot for the time being anyway.
Oh and a reminder is was a bipartisan proposal.
We've been through this before, I think. The American public favors increased border security. Why is the left holding that hostage? Let's go ahead and do that and then we can do DACA, right?
