Sam thought it wouldn't be good for his development to leave on loan, but how does one 8 minute sub every 8 matches help his development here?

Surely it's better for him to be playing regularly in a decent side?

The worry isn't his development, it's that he felt the need to leave the club so he wouldn't stagnate.

I get that it's hard to balance the experience required to succeed in the PL with integrating youth players but it shouldn't result in one of our most exciting prospects leaving the bloody country.

Well if he is as good as some are making out he will be playing every week for Liepzig.

It knocks the whole homesick stuff on the head at least.

I don't really see anything wrong with a young footballer experiencing a different league and culture, if anything I don't think the English players do it enough.

RB Leipzig are a quality team, tells you something about Lookman if they've scouted him.

they where intersted in him when he ended signing for you guys. So he's someone they had an eye on before. They scout well.

I think Leipzig had been looking for reinforcements for the rest of the season for the wing positions, because of Emil Forsberg's injury.

I hope he enjoy his time in Germany and show the world what he’s capable of, best way to humiliate the manager who refuse to give him more minutes.

I'm going to put a tenner on him to win the Ballon d'Or next year. Reading some of the comments here he must be a shoe-in, surely?
don't worry about all that keeping possession malarkey, or helping out the full backs, or not losing the ball cheaply putting our team under pressure again..... nope, he can run fast so he's boss.

Sam didn't say that.

He said he thinks he chose the wrong place to go on loan. There were offers from Celtic and Derby that Lookman turned down.

Very sensible post. Can you please stop?

Not sure I agree with him but time will tell. Without being an expert on German football Id say it’s easier for creative flair players to progress.

British football has a long history of distrust with flair players largely because the media & the fans would rather talk positional Sense & tracking back.

Ultimately our national football psyche is a massive problem along with the premier league itself & clubs owners preferring an additional £2 million for finishing a place higher rather than developing youth.

Celtic would have been a good place for him I reckon.

Massive clubs but Rodgers would play him.

Hopefully the move to Leipzig works out well.
